Hi to everyone. I'm an italian guy and i visite North Macedonia in the previous days. Lovely place, Lovely People. I really enjoyed my time there. Whenever i go, I always visit the local market because I think it reflects in a way the city and also I like to Explore new products, smells etc. I'm also an amateur Cook so in every market I'm like a kid in a toy store. I bought some spices (or spices mix) from a stand but the guy Who sold me didn't talk any english so I didn't understand what I was buying but I was interested in the colors and smell so I bought them anyway thinking that I'll eventually figure it out but I'm having some difficulties doing so. For this reason I ask for your kind help. I attach the photo of the stand where i bought the spices and the 3 bags i bought home. If you identify the spice(or the Spice mix) you can also share the usual way to use the? Thank you to everyone Who will help =D

We love to eat good food, do hiking/go into nature, soak up history… what are the cannot-miss? We don’t have a car though, so reliable on public transport for national parcs! :)

Hi everyone, next month I’m coming to Skopje for a one-week trip. It will be mainly for sightseeing, and I’d love to experience the city in the best possible way. Could you please recommend the places that you think are a must visit? I’d also love to try local food and meet new people during my stay. For context, I speak only a little English and my native language is Turkish. Thanks a lot in advance!

Hello we are coming to Skopje and then travel to Prishtina for one day and we would need a shuttle for 10 people both ways. Do you have any recommendations.
Thank you.

Has anyone on here done the day trip? Is it better to book a tour? Or just to get bus tickets myself?

Is there a good public transport app? I arrived yesterday and couldn’t find any. One app that’s mentioned in old threads isn’t available for me to download.”

Hello Skopjans!
So I have just arrived in Skopje and decided to stay until the end of the month of august. Have already visited a bit the city, but didn't expect to do it all so fast hah. I'm here for some business meeting and then working remote, but dunno many people so far.
Maybe strange to ask that on reddit, but was wondering if anyone wants to go out for a couple drinks or something. M35, I believe I am quite friendly, and could share about my travels around Brazil, Colombia, Burkina Faso, bike trips in South Africa whatever or exchange about anything Sales (we never know). If anyone is up for it, feel happy to DM; or if you know about where I could go and maybe if there are a few other foreigners or a group of tourists around, happy to meet as well!
Cheers

Hi folks - I'm coming to Skopje with a group of friends and am trying to find out some information for FK Vardar's game against Makedonija. The internet isn't particularly helpful, one site has the game on Saturday 13th, some others Sunday 14th. Also the time says 16:00 but I'm not sure if that's because its correcting to my time zone.
Does anyone have any info they can share on this one? And where we may be able to buy tickets? (If its like the Vietnamese Premier league was right outside the stadium!). Have lots of other things planned for the few days there but we want to catch a game if possible.

Hey everyone! 👋
I’m working on something I think could be a game-changer for anyone filming videos in Macedonian – a voice-activated teleprompter that understands Macedonian.
No more fiddling with buttons or awkward pauses — it scrolls with your speech so you can stay natural on camera. That means fewer retakes, smoother delivery, and videos that look confident and keep your audience hooked.
I’m looking to talk to creators about what’s working, what’s annoying, and what’s missing from the teleprompters you’ve tried. The goal: build a tool that actually works.
If you’re making videos for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or anywhere else — let’s have a quick 10–15 minute chat.
Not a creator yourself? Tag or share with a friend who is.
💬 Drop a comment or DM me if you’re in — would love to hear your take.
(P.S. Not selling anything, not spamming you — I just want your honest opinion)

I really like the city and if I think about moving I want to know what I’m getting myself into lol
Edit: also, I am American, so cons to Europe in general are welcome as well

Hello, everyone! Google has recently begun updating much of the Balkans, including Kosovo and Albania. Right now, they are covering part of Skopje, and I was wondering if anyone has seen these vehicles in the city?

This is a long-shot: I saw a girl at Skopje airport on 6 Aug. She and her friends got on the Wizz Air flight to Ljubljana at 16:55. We both noticed and looked at each other really obviously multiple times while waiting at the security checkpoint. But I never got the chance to say hi and I would love to connect with her.
She: Curly long brown hair, t-shirt and jeans, beautiful eyes and smile.
Me: Black cap, red beard, and backpack.
If you know who this might be and feel comfortable passing this along - I’d be grateful! ❤️

Hello! Me and and a group of friends are on vacation in your beautiful country, and we will be in Skopje from the coming Saturday for about a week. Is anyone aware of any drum and bass event/club for us to visit? I did some research but with little results. Thanks in advance for the help :)

Hello! I recently (31/07/25) lost my DJI Mini 4K drone while flying over the mountainous area near Matka Canyon, very close to this location:
The drone is now switched off and stuck somewhere in the upper mountain slope, possibly in the trees or bushes. It has a memory card with very important footage I urgently need to recover.
🧭 If you’re a hiker, climber, or guide familiar with the terrain and can help locate it, I’m offering a good reward for your time. I can share: • Exact last known GPS coordinates • Drone photo and flight details • Search area instructions
Please message me if you or someone you know can help. Any support or advice is hugely appreciated.
Thank you so much 🙏

Hello everyone, I hope it's okay to ask questions in english here. We, a german group of three, will ve visiting your city in September and are all pretty much into football and different fan cultures across Europe. Therefore we'd like to visit a gameday, if we're already there and experience a match at the stadium. From what I could gather via english and german sources, which sadly seem to be pretty scarce and my use of google translate there seem to be 4 (?) clubs from Skopje competing in the first division this season. Please correct me, if I transcribed them to the latin script incorrectly, but to me it seems like Vardar, Rabotnicki, Shkupi and Makedonija are playing their home games in Skopje.
So far - although this might be due to my non-existent proficiency in Cyrillic and Macedonian - I haven't found an online shop for tickets or where to buy them. Is it usually possible to buy them at the stadium on gameday or are the games usually sold out in advance? Are there any areas in the respective Stadiums, where it would be offensive to be a foreigner/outsider/groundhopper and if so, where would it be appropriate to watch the game from? Are there any fixtures to avoid as someone not involved with either team?
Thanks for your help already.

TLDR: between 25 December - 31 December are museums/shops etc opened in Skopje?
Hello, I am looking for a destination to visit between Catholic Christmas (25 December) and New Year. I have never been to Macedonia but info I found on the Internet says that only orthodox Christmas are celebrated there.
So if I visit the city in this time I will be able visit museums, restaurants, shops, use public transport, use cable car to the hill above the city etc? I have always problems with things like that during my Christmas holiday.
What about other activities like hiking in Matka canyon or skiing in Popova Shapka? Would it be possible or there is too much/little snow for that?
And if I stay there for New Year Eve - are there any public celebrations in the city center?
Thank you!

Hi!
I’m staying in Skopje for a summer and I want to visit mount Vodno with a friend. Originally we planned to climb to Vodno and then hike from the top to Matka canyon. Do you know, if it’s allowed right now with the forest entry ban? If the trail is forbidden, is it possible to at least hike to Vodno and then go to Matka separately?
Thank you!

Hi All,
So i will be in the city for a while. I would love to try some of the local sportclimb sectors.
Anyone here who is up to go together for a day? I have around 10 years of experience with sportclimbing up to 7B.
