2/3 days in Skopje: tips?

We love to eat good food, do hiking/go into nature, soak up history… what are the cannot-miss? We don’t have a car though, so reliable on public transport for national parcs! :)

Matka Canyon! Buy a bus card, top it up, and you're away. Only about 30 minutes out of Skopje. Alternatively, a taxi isn't too badly priced (600 - 800denar 1 way)

Go for wine tasting and food pairing.

3 major wineries around Skopje (Kamnik, Kartal, Brzanov) with amazing wines and great wine and food pairing places (Forza, Dropstop, Oeno, El Cabron, Wineberry)

Matka Canyon is a must, then! Bus line #60 from the city center gets you to Matka, but try to avoid weekend days for going there. Around the city center, you can have a walk and meal in the Old Bazaar, visit the Kale Fortress and go hiking on Vodno.
