This thing is massive

My grandfather went to assisted living and gifted me a Model 36. It is in fantastic condition, but in my opinion, it is meant to be carried and not be a "safe queen." So I bought an IWB holster from eBay with low expectations regarding its comfort. To my surprise, it is a dream to carry and is getting a lot of time in my waistband.

Bought a M&P 2.0 metal comp because agency is banning the P320. Could’ve gone Glock, $tacatto, or smith. Excited for this transition

So I went into Academy the other day and bought their one and only Shield X in stock.

I bought a couple of attachments as well but I can’t seem to find a holster that’ll fit this specific build.

Any ideas/links for a holster that’ll fit?

Got my wife to finally get a gun and few months ago. Her pink SW M&P 380 Shield EZ with a 507k green dot. She has arthritis in her right arm (dominant) so this allows her to do what she needs to do. The black one is the M&P Shield 9mm EZ PC also has a 507k green dot is mine that I got just in case she needed a back up.

Just picked up this 686 No Dash in original box. Appears to be shot very little. Serial is AAH, which from what I have read is super early production, perhaps first year. Does NOT have the “M” stamp for the recall… can someone tell me what I have? Paid $700 out the door.

Finally got a day to go shoot and break in the gun. I wanted to do some ammo testing today to see if it would have any hiccups with the ammo I’ve already got in .380. Surprisingly it had no issues with multiple different types of ammo. I shot:

• 125rds Flat Nose FMJ
• 100rds Round Nose FMJ
• 25rds HST JHP
• 25rds Underwood Extreme Defender
• 25rds Winchester Silvertip JHP

It cycled everything flawlessly and didn’t give me any trouble. I sold my LCP Max recently and was hoping this new Bodyguard was easier to shoot. And it is, and feels way better than the Max. Having bigger hands, I feel that I can get a good grip on it.

My only negative takeaways are that if you have bigger hands, the slide will cut the back of your firing hand up a bit. But most micros do that to my hand, so it is what it is. It’s not a gun I’d shoot for fun. And it did shoot left. Maybe an inch between 7-10 yards. Still hitting center mass through 15 yards so not sure if I’ll mess with the sights at all. But interesting that is still an issue.

Overall I’m glad I switched from the LCP Max, and I feel like the BG 2.0 is going to be very reliable. It’s like a mini Shield Plus, which is my main carry, and I like familiarity between both of my carry options.

Anyone here conceal carry the m&p compact carry comp? How do you like it? Is it basically the same size as the full size?

TYIA, never had a problem till today but then again not like it’s had many rounds through. Click and no bang, appears the pin is not bitting the primer but the casing ?

Anyone else have issues with the Bodyguard 2.0 slide stop once the gun gets hot? After a couple mags mine stops locking back. You have to smack the 12rd mags a little to get them to seat and if my pistol is hot the jostling drops the slide on the first round with the ejector behind the cartridge and I have to drop the mag and tilt the pistol back to let it slide out.

I'm aware that the slide stops can wear so I've never used it as a release, always drop the slide overhand.

I have less than 1k rounds through the pistol, just purchased it recently. Is there something I should be doing or do I already need to send it in for warranty?

FWIW I love the pistol but (like many others) my sights are not aligned correctly and rounds are hitting to the left, one more thing to deal with.

I am also play around with silconcarbiding over tape to to see if I get some less permanent than traditional siliconcarbide but gives a better feel and more build than gripp tapes. It was put on after the 250 round mark and edc every day.It's holding up great. I also did it on a cz75 to see how hard it would be to off it was not to bad.

Does anybody know of fiber optic rear sights that would fit the J frame 642 ultimate carry?

I realize it’s a close combat firearm, as such a rear site is not necessary, but I think it would look amazing.

So my local shop got the shield x in without a safety and I’ve been considering it. I have pretty much every carry model that’s out there from 43x coa, shield carry comp, axg legion etc. how are these stacking up against the common edc guns out there ? I might just grab it cause I have an eps carry sitting in my safe without a home lol also do these fit the shield carry comp holsters? I got a Tenicor for it and that would be great if it worked. Thanks !

Hi, all. When I got my CSX-E, I got everything except the 17rd mag sleeve. I called S&W and they won't sell it to me because it's not being stocked as a separate item. And, I can't even buy a 17rd Mag with the sleeve because I live in Maryland, which limits us to 10rds.
I bought the pistol in WV and called the store there. They don't have any separate sleeves either, and their other store, in Maryland, also doesn't have them. I also looked around at gun shops in nearby Pennsylvania. They apparently don't have the 17rd mag with the sleeve for sale.
I know that mounting the long backstrap would take care of this, but I still want to use the 12rd mag for concealed carry purposes.
I'll gladly pay for the part and shipping should you have one available.

On my first post everyone seemed to favor Blazer. I was very interested in seeing it was one of the worst performers in the pistol but 3# in the rifle and NOT the cheapest round like everyone said.

I am still planning to edit together some video I took shooting, and talk about the rounds. But the results were fairly dissapointing. The 1607 advertised actually shooting 1053 was pretty lame but overall I was hoping for a few to be in the 1250 range but none were. Maybe I need to step up to some defensive loads like Speer Gold Dot. I am going to do a part 2 when finances allow.
