The homeless are supposed to be in public places, as a reminder to the rest of us that we are all just a few paychecks away from joining them. All of the raids, sweeps, camp cleanups and wanton theft and destruction of personal property are intentionally filmed and broadcast as part of a plan to keep their misery in our minds when our hours or benefits are cut and we think about quitting our non-living-wage jobs.

Our government, OUR government could house everyone for less than the cost of the least expensive government agency.

Parents of a friend of mine from high school lost everything, including their businesses, in a massive wildfire a few years ago.

They have never been able to recover.

We just repurpose the orphan grinding machine to also grind the homeless.

If we MUST do away with wasted resources, guess who just released a new food staple? SOYLENT GREEN anybody?

u/GrowFreeFood 4d ago

We produce 1.5x more food than we need to feed everyone on earth. So thats like half an earth of wasted food.

I always hear that statistic, do you have a source?

OR WE JUST GRIND UP POOR PEOPLE! /joke

The system at play isn't supposed to help anybody who isn't the .1%. We are supposed to prop up the elite class. This is by design.

I will find the sauce one of these days.

Think about the fact that we have to feed meat like 10x the calories for 1 we eat.

Soylent Green is people!

u/LadyTelia 4d ago

Just don't eat the brain.

2

u/CritFailed 4d ago

What has this country come to?! Grinding machines used to be for Pedos! RPMs set to high, feed rate set to low...

u/liketolaugh-writes 4d ago

Pretty sure they're supposed to just die quietly of exposure.

That's the beauty of the US President's new executive order- solving homelessness one flag-burning at a time!!

Start dropping off flags and lighters at homeless encampments.

3

u/picklehippy 4d ago

They are trying to make being homeless a crime so they can put them in concentration camps

Where do mentally ill people go? After all, 50% of homeless people have brain injuries. Look it up.

Not sure where you get that ridiculous figure not even close to true. No matter... I worked for the past 15 yrs in a downtown Boston homeless shelter and I can tell you first hand that 90% or more of our homeless pop are addicts. Full stop.

2

u/Union_Biker 3d ago

Let's ask you the same question, where did you get that ridiculous figure?

If you worked in a shelter you know there a myriad of reasons why people are homeless and a wide variety of homeless people.

Up to half of the homeless population works. https://usich.gov/guidance-reports-data/data-trends?hl=en-US#:~:text=Fact%3A%20While%20employment%20helps%20people,kept%20up%20with%20rising%20rents.

Are they addicts who can work but can't find an apartment?

A significant number of homeless people are youth who were kicked out of their homes for being gay or trans or somehow different. They have often not finished high school and have little to no job experience.

Are you aware that there are many more empty homes and apartments than there are homeless people.

Every science journal on earth. Do you have Internet access? Here’s what Google says. “Homelessness is often linked to brain injuries (specifically Traumatic Brain Injury or TBI), with studies showing a high prevalence, potentially affecting half of the homeless population. TBIs can be caused by falls, assaults, or other physical trauma and can lead to cognitive, emotional, and behavioral issues that contribute to housing instability.” it’s concerning that someone working with the homeless doesn’t know this figure.

wrong. your like sheep. it's simple. go to a homeless shelter and look around. go yourself and go to a few... stop believing corporate media bs. get some real clarity about this and many other issues by looking directly at the issue YOURSELF. I am sure you think Jesus did rise from the dead and the sky is blue, A thing is true only  when it corresponds with reality

You’re saying that narcotics use is a root cause among the homeless, and is widespread, growing, and largely ignored by government agencies. Thank you for that information.

essentially yes (addiction in 2024/25 is more of a polysubstance problem and not one specific type of drug like opioids or Meth). that is my experience as a detox nurse working at an inner city homeless shelter in a major US city for nearly 15 yrs. Take a look at the population wandering around Methadone Mile in Boston or Kensington area of PA.

2

u/Zmovez 1d ago

Could it be both. Maybe some homeless have a substance abuse problem because they have a traumatic brain injury. I know that's a big concept.

1

u/Dry_Act7754 1d ago

Of course it "could" be both and every so often is. But it doesn't seem to be what is...

1

u/Dry_Act7754 4d ago

why don't you do yourself a little survey and ask a group of shelter workers anywhere... to clarify this issue for you... maybe you'll believe them?

and not just largely ignored by state government but "fed by it". Addicts are given Methadone and benzos, antidepressants and so much more, food stamps, a $6 to $900 monthly income from SSDI, free medical care and I mean gold card care, endless detoxes. Any addict can go to detox (and many do) up to 12 to 15 times a yr. and still be on the clinics. Yes the way we handle addiction is one of our biggest mistakes.

Is it a cause or a result?

3

u/DruidicMagic 5d ago

The homeless should be relocated to Blackrock HQ.

3

u/SnakeOiler 4d ago

isn't the plan that trump will put them in prison?

1

u/kma555 23h ago

That is highly illegal. You cannot punish people for being poor.

1

u/SnakeOiler 21h ago

"legality" (nor morality or ethics) is not something this president is concerned with. he's got carte Blanche from scotus to do whatever he wants.

u/mentalhealthleftist 4d ago

Too often, the answer is "not in my back yard"

I'm sure the GOP will work out some final sort of solution.

1

u/ADownStrabgeQuark 2d ago

Oof!

This scares me.

2

u/Used-Bag6311 3d ago

Take all of the homeless people, and push them somewhere else!

2

u/emptyfish127 5d ago

They are going to be put in some kind of jail or prison.

4

u/Thubanstar 5d ago

So, imprisoned for not having money. Great./s

5

u/Heya_Heyo420 5d ago

Wouldn't surprise me if Trump tried to bring debtors prison to America.

Owe money? Getting debt collector or wage garnishments because you can't afford this broken ass economy? Go sit in prison

It's a good way for the rich to get the masses out of their way.

2

u/Thubanstar 4d ago

Unfortunately, you have a point.

1

u/Cheese602 3d ago

To work.

1

u/capnspoods 2d ago

Below the sewers to old new York where they will rot in filth.

1

u/kma555 23h ago

The solutions are cheaper and easier than what we are doing now, but we perpetuate homelessness because we refuse to solve problems in this country. If we solve problems, what would we all whine and cry about?

1

u/Large-Treacle-8328 4d ago

I read somewhere that soilent green can help solve the homless problem and even feed people.

1

u/ADownStrabgeQuark 2d ago

Please don’t eat me. I’d rather we eat the rich.

0

u/PirateQuest 4d ago

they should get a job.

2

u/ADownStrabgeQuark 2d ago

Most homeless people have jobs.

https://bfi.uchicago.edu/insight/research-summary/learning-about-homelessness-using-linked-survey-and-administrative-data/

I’m a homeless person with 2(technically 3, but I can only work 2 at a time) jobs.
