Loved the gsmeplay, less the story

Post image

Imo, the story is thin, like others have said here. But, I absolutely loved the gameplay and the different stories from the characters.

It's not often me and my partner get to play together, and this was a very good game to do that together. Especially because we both loved it takes too.

As a trophy hunter, my partner indulged me with a Platinum hunt, and we made it!

Cold potato was the most challenging one.

Anyway, that's all I wanted to share with you guys.

Enjoy the game!

The point in these types of game is that you shouldn't think too deep in the story and that's okay.

Also, try laser hell

I completely agree with you!

Thank you for the Lazer Hell tip, I didn't know about it. I'll try it after work

The story was fine my only issue is there was a chance for it to be great the components were there, but the gameplay especially some of the split perspective stuff they did in the rader fight was really cool

How was the laser level for you?

I didn't know that secret level existed. It's not needed for Platinum, if you're going for it.

I will try it though, seems like a bit of fun and lots of dying, haha.

Ooh, I'll suggest games for you and your partner that double up with good story (since you're done with this one lol)

Have you guys done Baldur's Gate 3?

Grounded 1 is so fun, great story, great multiplayer. Grounded 2 is in early access, but from what me and my hubby played it's great as well!

Palworld. Hoshite me and my hubby love Palworld. The story is in the notes and the palpedia but it's there. I love how macabre it is!!

These 3 are our main games to co-op, though we did do It Takes Two once. Great story and gameplay, we expected more out of Split Fiction... Horribly disappointed as well lol. We play for story as well, you see why we were disappointed lol

There was bare minimum lore in Mio and Zoe's numerous sci-fi and fantasy stories, outside of just their real lives and how much of those they've applied to said stories.

Like I know you put a little bit of yourself in what you create, like what Zoe said to Mio at the end of Neon Revenge. But if this were almost any other sci-fi or fantasy universe, like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, or Mobile Suit Gundam and Final Fantasy, it would have had several codex pages worth of lore to sink your teeth into. Versus just the author's real life, alone, like Mio and Zoe with their sci-fi and fantasy worlds.

Agreement, they made flat worlds didn't they? Lol

They can't hold a candle to Varric... And I headcannon Dragon Age 2's repetitive backgrounds was because Varric hates describing them 🤣

My hubby and I got to predicting what would happen in split Fiction partway through... That's not good for making a compelling story, is it? Lol
