Question what should i do?
Just spray painted my wheels, I think I accidentally put too much clear coat because they have this gritty uneven texture. I’m assuming the best way to fix it would be to sand it. what grit sandpaper should I use and should i add another light clear coat after I sand?

I'm curious if you got this fixed yet and how you did it. I'm having similar issues spray painting aluminum. Some pieces turn out fine and some look like this. I would personally sand it down like he said with a higher grit, and start over with a fresh coat of paint and then clear coat. I've noticed that different brands have different instructions on how and when to apply coats, maybe look and make sure you followed thier particular instructions?

Assuming a spray can clear:
I’m sure others will have more nuanced answers but if this was me I’d flat sand with 320 but keep your touch light. Once it’s even I’d spray again and this time make sure I’m keeping to the recommended distance and layer timing.
If you used a gun, I can’t help you because I’m still learning to get the right “wet”.
Best wishes.
