Same thing with Edge. "He doesn't book the matches". Kinda weird he hasn't lost a feud clean since his return nearly 6 years ago, though!

I honestly don’t buy it, as much as I think his second run has been a general disappointment. It’s just Edge at the end of the day. A legend no doubt, but he’s not a legend like Stone Cold or The Rock that’d be believable, but Edge isn’t enough of a draw to warrant giving him that much creative control.

But they aren't giving him creative control, they've just been booking him to win matches.

Lest we forget, Edge did get stacked and pinned along with Bryan by Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania. If creative control was at play, that could easily have been just Bryan being pinned.

Well that is the thing people suggest. “Adam Hogan” everyone who goes over a ton is a “Hogan”, but the issue with Hogan is he had the creative control to politic.

You guys are so weird assuming this shit and calling someone ego driven based on nothing. He has zero drama in the dirt sheets around him when it comes winning/losing like guys like Miro and Malakai.

It’s almost like Edge is a big star and so valuable that both WWE and AEW have booked him like so.

This sub is embarrassing with shit like this. Making up your own shit and believing it to fit your narrative just because you dislike how someone is booked is weird.

It's also worth mentioning you can put people over without eating a pin to them and there's maybe no better example of that then Edge.

The entire Judgment Day launched into superstardom at Edge's expense.

FTR's current fantastic heel run got launched at Edge's expense.

But we're supposed to think he's selfish because he didn't eat a pin from Kip Sabian in his reunion match with Christian lol

Right lol speaking so matter of fact like they were in the room with Edge and the Hurt Syndicate when the decision was made. Very bizarre

Yeah, it's called protecting someone. It's like some fans have gotten so used to 50/50 booking from WWE over the last ten-twenty years that they suspect foul play when someone is kept strong.

Has Kenny Omega put anyone over clean since coming back from diverticulitis? He's won matches against Gabe Kidd, Takeshita, Ricochet and Mike Bailey, and The Death Riders. He's one of a very small list of guys to get even just a visual pinfall over Okada in AEW.

Is that because Kenny is a terror who refuses to lose, or is that because it's Kenny fucking Omega who is more over than most of the roster and is being kept strong by a smart booker in Tony Khan? I'd say it's pretty obviously the latter.

This isn't 2003 WWE with Triple H. Adam isn't burying anyone. He's been a huge catalyst of reheating FTR with a heel turn/injury angle. Besides that, he's barely actually beaten anyone major on the AEW roster because he's been feuding with Christian for a lot of his run.

If you include pre retirement it's almost 15 cause he also rarely took pins during his 2009-2010 face run.

Well he did break his foot causing the plans that have seen him losing to be derailed.

Plus iirc he tore an oblique in WWE

Edge hasn't lost a single feud clean since 2020. He's faced Randy Orton in the lead to being WWE Champion, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns as WWE Champion (multiple times), Bryan Danielson, AJ Styles, Finn Balor, and Jon Moxley as AEW Champion.

Not one of them got put over clean in a feud. Even on the two/three occasions Edge has lost a match clean, he'd always get his wins back and won the feud.

here's a secret for you. I don't actually enjoy watching legends lose

Here's a secret for you: When legends don't put over new talent you make it almost impossible for said talent to get over. This is part of why the New Generation had such trouble taking off, and considering were talking about fucking Edge of all people who would be nothing but a permanent tag team guy without having gone over Foley in 2005 you'd think he'd be more aware of that fact.
