Daniel deserves better

I'm watching Stargate: Continuum for the first time. The scene where Daniel calls his alternate self (who's a "wack job" in that timeline) and tells him to believe in himself is such a tear-jerker. I did not expect to be moved so much by this movie, but it's amazing so far. No spoilers please! I haven't finished yet.

But yeah; that scene did a number on me just now. Time to go to bed crying.

IIRC, that's one reason Shanks left after season 5. He felt like Jackson was being ignored. Plus he had family stuff going on too.

Shanks left in season five because he felt like Daniel was being underutilized. He went on paternity leave for a few episodes in season ten, which was separate. :)

If anyone was underutilized, it was Chris/Teal'c. I can see why Shanks expected a larger role given his character was in the movie, but he really wasn't needed much once they decided everyone spoke English and there were almost no archaeological digs.

Yeah, that was why Shanks left. They mad no effort to include him. Personally, I think that Chris Judge had a lot of important episodes and his growth was very important.
