That might be Basic, but the hell song (and then solo hits)

u/LarsX5_ 8d ago

Yeah, there's a reason it's popular

Goddamn I'm Dead Again when the guitars harmonize in different keys, it reminds me of Waltz of The Tornado

sick of everyone, when it’s so emotional

Handle this, the bridge is absolute peak

5

u/iamalfredjim there's no reason to not be with me 8d ago

the bridge in Confusion and Frustration in Modern Times

Divided we stand, together we fall, there’s no god that can save us all so don’t pray on your knees just beg on your hands, there is no belief in this promise land. Sum 41 has so many good quotes in their songs

No reason last verse where dave sings too

1

u/WaterGuyWilliam Chuck (Deluxe Edition) 2d ago

dave doesnt sing it

3

u/Jiimmy182 8d ago

I’m not the one when the drum snare hits in the intro

3

u/spurredoil 8d ago

Noots opening riff for the longest time, but after the farewell tour:

Landmines - the lead up to the chorus when the lyrics go "and what you said has got me hanging on". That lead up with the drums and then right into the chorus gives me that sweet sweet dopamine

Turning Away, Twisted By Design, How The End Begins and so many others they have that start chill or not so hard but when the bridge comes or a chorus after a double strophe, they hit hard. Sum 41 is particularly good at this type of songs

My weird one is exactly at 1:09 on All She’s Got with that muted guitar strumming at the rest. It gets me irrationally pumped and it’s SO cleanly done.

2

u/Aaron-Ramsey Holy Image of Lies 8d ago

That ending part in Twisted By Design where he screams "TO TAKE MY PAIN AWAAAAAAAY"

2

u/courtofknights who will take the blame? 8d ago

"I'm too awake for this to beeeee a nightmaaaaare!"

In Too Deep with Dave's guitar solo

Confusion and Frustration towards the end with Steve's drum solo

u/Much_Week_2176 8d ago

2

u/cbandbyalcn420 2d ago

I like that song too

2

u/CrashakaDRWH0fan 7d ago

It’s between were all to blame with the final chorus or no reason with vocal layers in the final chorus

Guitar solo on still waiting

1

u/Puwerade Skumfuk 8d ago

no brains, especially the live harmony part in the bridge

1

u/Subxanthium 8d ago

The motivation solo.

2

u/Thanosthemadtitan1 6d ago

Pieces. I think you all probably know "that part"

1

u/Sensitive-Return-388 6d ago

It's a different song every half a year for me. Right now it's there's no solution

1

u/Sensitive-Return-388 6d ago

It took me so long to find out

It's right there in front of me

Too close to see what i thought was true

I see right through what's killing you

1

u/Spirit6478 Chuck 5d ago

No Brains is the clear winner here. That bridge is amazing.

1

u/iluvgothamchesscaro 5d ago

The definition of that is when the second half of the bridge bleeds into the incredibly catchy chorus in walking disaster

1

u/Then_Flamingo2997 5d ago

Deliverance - Opeth, that outro
