My Spatial Sequence Synesthesia (SSS) & time-space synesthesia is my super power.
I only discovered what synesthesia is this year. I mentioned to someone that I visualize a calendar, and they were shocked that I see it at all, let alone in the counterclockwise way I do. I also visualize the alphabet and number sequences.
I’m a project manager with Spatial Sequence Synesthesia (SSS) and time-space synesthesia, which I believe contributes to my effectiveness in my role.
I’m curious to know what others with this type of synesthesia do for a living and whether you also consider it your superpower!

I just don't get how people remember dates if they can't see calendars. I see all time/years in ribbons. I see numbers in ribbons. I was in the accounting field and I was good at math in high school. I am also an artist and I create more art in my mind than I can express in material art

I remember the first time I mentioned my spatial sequence synesthesia to someone she had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. I was shocked that not everyone visualizes time and numbers in some way!
I have one visualization for years, one visualization for the months of the year, and another one for numbers.

For years I was a full stack web programmer/Director of Engineering/project manager/spec writer/etc. It was definitely a superpower. I had a crazy memory for how things worked and fit together, conversations that had occurred, when we'd added features and why. And a lot of it was because those memories all had physical locations and weight to them.
Now I'm middle aged and at a different job and the superpower isn't so strong anymore, unfortunately.

I am retired, but I have worked as a writer and administrative assistant. My spatial sequence synesthesia helps me remember my schedule. I visualize each day as a clock, each week as an oval, each year as an oval. I do not visualize months. I also see a number line and historical timeline

My number form synesthesia (number line and historical timeline, sectioned off by colors) is why I think I was so good at math growing up despite not having the love for math that I had for reading. I remember historical dates (like the years of WWII) by their color and location. I have no idea how people without this number line do math at all.

I am a student currently, hopefully on my way to pharmacy school. so far, my SSS has not helped me with anything except those trivia videos on tiktok that ask “what year?” and then play a song and show a title of a movie lol

I have a number map, and alongside my colors/personalities for numbers, my brand of synesthesia makes me pretty good at certain arithmetic operations.
