How bad is it for a telepath to lose their telepathy?
Or in trois case empath ability
It seems like in this episode it's worse than losing your sight or hearing or taste or smell

Whats the best 3-episode stretch?
You can only watch 3 episodes of TNG, but they had to have aired consecutively. What’s the best stretch?
Do you take three good episodes like Data’s Day > The Wounded > Devil’s Due but leave out the best, or take two of the best with something lesser, like I, Borg > The Next Phase > Inner Light?

The funniest part in "The Schizoid Man" was when Graves as Data is eulogizing himself while everyone stands there puzzled and JLP has to tell him to shut up.

I genuinely think that TNG wouldn’t have been nearly as successful if it wasn’t for Brent Spiner
He brought this emotional depth (ironic, really) and often outshined the other cast members, Stewart included. I remember Frakes saying something about how difficult it was to hire someone to play Lal. IIRC they said that they hired and fired a few actors before they could find someone who could work on a similar level as Brent in terms of acting.
The role of Data could’ve fallen into the wrong hands so easily and I’m so glad they went with Brent. I love each and every single character so I’m not hating on any of them. But Brent really made the show shine.
Nicky the Nose is BOB PINCIATTI!
Holy crap! Neighbor Bob from That 70's Show, is the actor that plays Nicky the Nose in Star Trek First Contact! I don't know how but I never noticed that before! Thats too funny!

Surprised that Star Trek was always considered the"nerd" show.
Growing up "trekkers" were always seen as the nerdist of nerdy basement dwellers. Any time a movie or TV show wanted to make someone seem like a total lover they'd have them mention Klingons or something. Kirk vs Picard debates. The comic book guy in the Simpsons is a perfect example. Only knowing all that I would have put it on the same shelf as Dungeons and Dragons for nerdly stuff.
I've just finished watching the original and the next generation and was surprised at how accessible and similar, in some ways, it was to other TV shows of the time. There's Sci fi tropes and elements for sure, but the relationships between characters and their heroic adventures seem to be more of the focus. It wasnt some super rocket science nerdfest with concepts I couldnt understand. I was just shocked at how easy and enjoyable it was to watch for myself and my wife.

I started watching TNG on Netflix...it looks AI upscaled
I watched TNG as a kid and decided to rewatch it now. Normally it looks okay but in close ups I see alot of weirdness. Everyone skin looks unnaturally smooth and almost like AI generated images. Am I going crazy or can anyone explain what I'm seeing

Did Spiner learn ASL for "Loud as a Whisper" or did he already know it? Anyone know that?

Can you come up with a satisfying "TOS vs TNG" concept? (i.e. the original concept of Generations)
Apparently the original concept for the Star Trek Generations movie was to pit the crew of the original USS Enterprise vs the crew of the Enterprise-D. It was going to be Kirk VS Picard.
But the writers couldn't come up with a satisfying concept for it, where both sides would be good and they probably didn't want to kill off any characters or anything like that.
So they ended up scrapping the idea and we ended up with Generations, where Picard meets Kirk in the nexus, they go for a horse ride and then punch Malcolm McDowell in the face, and only Chekov and Scotty make a small appearance at the beginning.
So...do you think you could come up with a more satisfying story for Generations that passes the torch and has the two crews face off against each other?
