Post in English Looking to Continue HRT in Wroclaw from USA (FTM)

Hello, I'm coming to school in Wroclaw in a month. I have 5 viles of HRT (testosterone, I am FTM) that will last me a little waiting time. I need to find continued testosterone sevices.

I have a gender dysphoria diagnosis from home, my legal sex marker is changed as well as my name, and I have been on testosterone for 19 months. I know to pay out of pocket. I only speak English right now, nowhere near conversational in Polish (especially with medical terms) so I would really appreciate if anyone can give me any advice or any doctors to see.

I'm also looking to get a 10ml vile that would last me a while. I don't have a lot of money to spend every month on smaller viles. I currently use 1ml viles with a .2ml dose every week.

So person in Wrocław you can go to is possibly Anna Trzmiel-Bira, she's an endocrinologist. Idk if she knows English so you can reach out to her right now whether she's ok with English speaking patient or visit with translator. That's private healthcare so you pay for the visit, blood tests etc.

Technically, with all the papers and changed gender marker you can also go to primary care practitioner IF you will have a public medical insurance in Poland. Which you possibly should have, through your university. They can bridge prescriptions. Trans-friendly PCP I know is Dominik Magdziarz who works near Wrocław, in Kiełczów.

Also specify your budget bc like prices in Poland are different, high chance you can afford whatever, there is big difference in currencies after all... You have options of Androtop (gel), Nebido (once every three months injections), Omnadren (injections once every 2-4 weeks) and Prolongatum (injections once every 1-2 weeks). You can check the prices yourself via gdziepolek.pl website for example.

Looking for as cheap as possible. Currencies are different, yes, but I am far from wealthy in the US.

Will it take long under public health insurance through a primary care provider? I’m looking to get back on hormones as soon as possible. I cannot risk to be off of them.

(This is on my other account)

I still advise you to actually check prices out, esp in Wrocław. I'm not from there, I take average prices from the internet which are more or less accurate but sometimes shit can be cheaper or more expensive depending on a particular pharmacy in a particular city. There are country wide chains and some random small places.

The cheapest is Omnadren 250 which is ~100 PLN for 5 250mg vials. It depends on your levels etc individual mileage may vary but it can come out to be around ~30 PLN per month. On the other hand, non-injectable t-gel Androtop can cost ~200-250 PLN per month. Nebido, injectable you get every three months can be like ~400-500 per vial meaning 130-160 PLN per month.

I cannot say much about your particular case with PCP. When I went to PCP with my endocrinologist letter with dosages, it took one visit and right now I can just renew the prescription in the app indefinitely (calling for renewal is more common tho). You might have it a bit different BC you'll go to a different person and you're a foreigner. At worst they'll require the exact same thing as the endocrinologist would, this is blood tests. With trans-friendly PCP it wouldn't be too much of an issue tho imo.

In case of some problems you can contact tranzycja.pl (kontakt@tranzycja.pl), they're likely to either know the best course of action or know people who might know stuff. LGBTQ friendly migrant/refugee org in Wrocław is Nomada.

i doubt you’ll find a 10ml multiuse vial like in America, most T vials i have seen in use were 1ml single use ampoules (Prolongatum and Omnadren)

with your dose i guess youre better off getting Androtop and adjusting the amount of pumps appropriately

We do not use 10ml in America either. I am on 1ml single use but I cannot afford this as a recurring monthly cost.

What is Androtop?

ohhh sorry, browsing T subreddits i have seen people using them so i thought that was an american thing

androtop is the market name for androgel here, its a t gel. three times as expensive though
