Discussion Which male character did you love watching evolve?
Okay, I'll start first. For me it's Peter Hale. From the very beginning he knew exactly how to play people, and the way he manipulated Lydia was both terrifying and brilliant. He wasn't just some random bad guy, he had plans within plans, and half the time you didn't even realize until it was too late.
And the best part is how his role kept changing through the seasons. He could be a villain, a survivor, an ally, even a backstabber, and somehow he pulled it all off. One moment you hate him, the next you find yourself enjoying his scenes. I especially loved when he was with Stiles. Their interactions were always hilarious, full of sarcasm and those quick lines back and forth.
So that's my pick, but who's yours? Which male character had the best development for you?

I might be an unpopular opinion… but I liked Theo’s evolution throughout the series. I think there’s a slight disservice to him because 6B had its major flaws narratively, but as a whole Theo’s journey and search for redemption was fairly well executed — even if somewhat incomplete.

Derek. Both in maturity and in his wolf form
And Scott from being a werewolf crybaby to a dependable alpha

Watching Derek go from being a reluctant and mysterious ally with a traumatic past to a full-blown mentor over the seasons is just chef’s kiss 🤌🏼 And having him evolve as a wolf as his character develops is a bonus, too

Stiles and Peter are my favorite characters, but I'm actually gonna say Derek instead.
He really evolved (heh) throughout the series. From trying to teach Scott (which Scott didn't make it too easy on him) to killing Peter and becoming the Alpha; from finding Isaac, Erica, and Boyd and turning them, bonding with them, becoming pack, to losing them one by one – Erica and Boyd to the Alpha Pack and Isaac to his own fears; from getting Cora back and trying to weather her disappointment, to sacrificing his Alpha Spark to save her; from fighting against the Alpha Pack, to taking the Alpha Twins under his wing; from becoming deaged with the memories to match and then losing his powers, to dying and then coming back to life able to do a full-shift.
I didn't say Peter because I'm still so salty about the fact that HE WORKED WITH KATE. LIKE WHAT. And I didn't say Stiles because honestly... I don't feel like he's changed that much from Season 1?
Obviously, he has changed, and if the writers had actually INCLUDED HIS NOGITSUNE TRAUMA or if they had actually DONE SOMETHING WITH THE SPARK THING FROM SEASON 2, then he would've been my pick.

Peter Hale was truly the king of the long game. You’d blink and suddenly realize he’d manipulated five people, faked his own death, and still had time for a perfectly delivered snarky one-liner..
His evolution wasn’t just character development, it was villainous artistry.

There's a song by Jonathan Coulton called Skullcrusher Mountain that I've renamed in my own head as "Peter Hale's Love Song" 🤣🤣🤣

Peter was a fun villain and he could've become even more entertaining semi ally/enemy but they decided to write him like he slipped and banged his head so hard only the stupid thoughts remained in his head cos there's no other way to explain his insanity during season four.
Which makes his return, though welcome, in season six even more stupid.

Watching Derek go from literally his worst day ever (and he’s had several runner ups) to gradually being able to be happy, to finally actually being happy is so healing for me.

I never got tired of Derek's story, it was brutal but it made him unforgettable. He went through so much and it made his development stand out to me. Plus his dynamic with Peter was always interesting to watch, especially when we got that backstory with Paige.
The arc with Jennifer is unforgettable too. For the first time it felt like he was letting himself feel something real, and then she turned out to be…well, no spoilers. But honestly I still get chills thinking about it.
