this was never the plan. S3B was written after Crystal decided she was ready to move on from TW. hence why Shelley and Arden were brought in and Allison and Scott took a step back from each other.

S3A and S3B were filmed 6 months apart. they knew she was leaving well filming S3A and never would've made the plan to turn her. that's not how a contract works. she never renewed her contract meaning the story they wrote for her character was the original and the final. 😭

Yep, she walked away because she thought she’d outgrown the show and was ready to move on to “bigger and better” projects (which is fair). Joke’s on her, though... her career never really took off. That’s why they had to pull the ultimate cop-out and resurrect her character for the movie. Outside of Teen Wolf royalties and a handful of older credits, her career is basically on life support.

It wasn’t really so much that she thought she’d outgrown the show, it was that she did not realize that the show intended to have her as a 17-year-old for basically six years. so she was going to be 30 something years old and still playing a teenager. Basically she didn’t wanna end up in the same situation that Bianca Lawson had ended up in, because she was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to get more adult roles after the show. But yes, jokes on her, she never really ended up with a career. If memory serves, the one role she did eventually get, came after the same time that teen wolf ended and didn’t even air but went straight to streaming

Yea she hasn’t done much since. Staying would have probably been best for her because her being turned could of been interesting.

Her being turned IMO would have been trash but it was very typical Jeff

I don’t think so

Would she accept being a werewolf and being the good one? The doubt remains! It would have been so good if she had stayed and been transformed so we would know what she would be and how she would react. Whether she was going to be an obedient beta or she was going to do whatever came into her head. I'm still curious about this scene in my head to this day.

That’s not fair: Crystal Reed’s post TW career started off solidly, with a main role on Gotham in 2018 and a main role on Swamp Thing in 2019. Right after that? A little thing called Covid happened, which shut down filming and resulted in a large number of canceled films and shows.

Honestly, the entire TW cast had their careers harmed by Covid, including Dylan O’Brien.

Such a bad decision

As much as I loved everybody lives/nobody dies au fics. I'll admit that as much painful as it is. A story like teen wolf isn't great without deaths

she didn't deserve to die but i deserved a break from allison. (i'm ready for the downvotes, don't be shy. i'm used to it)

7

u/Techsupportvictim 1d ago

Honestly given the poor writing to that point, I tend to agree that it was better she was gone

21

u/Mean-Choice-2267 1d ago

Agreed! I was happy to see her go away in any capacity.

13

u/HOLDONFANKS 1d ago

imo could have happened sooner 🤷🏼

14

u/SunJay333 1d ago

I was glad to see her go too tbh

downvotes?? i'm not active here anymore, but back in the day (before the movie) we all hated her!

u/HOLDONFANKS 1d ago

i have been downvoted for this take before lmao

Honestly, with Allison living an almost completely normal non dating life with Scott, It was pretty good to see her go the way she went. She was starting to turn into something of a sociopath too.

u/decapitareee 1d ago

you can love Allison or despise her, someone thinks she deserved to die and others don’t think so, but I think we all agree WE deserved a funeral scene!! she was one of the lead characters Jeff how could you

u/Zealousideal_Cod5214 1d ago

I agree. I don't care as much that she died, but other than her father, it didn't even show anybody mourning her after that episode.

12

u/Zevandel 1d ago

Eh. The actress was leaving regardless. Just writing that she moved away, as they did with many others, would've been boring. Characters who were written out in that way were basically treated like they never existed. No reason to have an emotional moment remembering the ex/friend who is alive and well because they left Beacon Hills

u/Lumpy_Emergency3260 1d ago

Ngl I was glad she was gone bc she was ANNOYING lately 😭

17

u/Hiddenimposter03 1d ago

she didn’t deserve it but honestly her death was perfectly timed because it raised the stakes

The careeers that Have grown form that show is really only Tyler Heochlin and Dylan O’Brien right? I mean Tyler became SUPERMAN! And a VERY well loved Superman too! for actual reasons other then his Looks, like “Man of Steel” guy.

arden cho too, she’s the main character in that huge k-pop movie on netflix & she was on the live action avatar the last airbender show.

6

u/TheRoboctopus 1d ago

Up until recently yeah those two were probably the only ones who’s careers kicked off post-TW, though Arden Cho just voiced one of the main girls in K-Pop Demon Hunters (the non-singing lines) so I’d say she qualifies as having some real career success after leaving the show. Especially if Netflix follows through on wanting to do more with that movie & make a series of it.

I know Colton Haynes was in Arrow, and the person who played Isaac was in a few things since, but yeah, the two you mentioned were probably the big standouts of the Teen Wolf cast.

1

u/Creepy-Trouble1714 1d ago

Yeah Issac was in the originals which was a big deal when that show was on! And then he did that Female-King Arthur show, which he was the only character I liked him and the kid, and I LOVE KING ARTHUR if it’s a HE I hate how people change that into female so many times in books as well, I mean I GET why (I am a female born and raised) but I don’t get why lol . I tried likening the others! But idk I couldn’t.. maybe it’s just cause Hannah Baker is still on her even as her character in this, I think she is one of those actresses and actors who just can’t seem to put aside there Real personality and it comes off as Self-righteous, like Shailene Woodley Even as Hannah baker, I’d didn’t find her that way in the book but the Tv show she came across as not someone who you could really Like honestly, all self righteous and self centered..

u/Longjumping_Cow_8621 1d ago

Isaac's actor was in Medici's also. He definitely did pretty well post his reen wolf years

3

u/Techsupportvictim 1d ago

It’s not really about whether she deserved to die or not. The actress wanted to leave and she did not want people asking why her character left and didn’t come back so there was that. Also, her death was actually one of the most horrific things that happened on a show that claimed to be a horror show, but actually wasn’t that much horror at all. So well, maybe she didn’t deserve to die from a storytelling point of view, she needed to die.

u/Interesting-Smile471 1d ago

I’m glad she did. I was fed up with her character

That's life.

She killed Oni. Oni killed her. What does deserve mean to you.

1

u/proximentauri 1d ago

Ngl I kinda liked that emotional part.

I'm not sure what reasons OP has for "didn't deserve" but I think that her death helped the storyline make death actually mean something. Her death brought gravity to the situation. The show too often made someone be mistaken or thought dead, almost died too many times, or brought back.

If the actress left the show in between seasons instead and left the writers to explain why, I think Allison getting killed is still preferable because it makes more sense than "she lives" reasons. She has no reason to move away and never contact them. Its possible that she would do it to protect them but why not just be with them? Her friends are her family now and she has her father.

What I think would be a good death off-screen/in between seasons, is her getting killed by other hunters while on a mission. The following are various ideas: finding some way to convince other hunter families to bring peace, protecting a werewolf pack and was killed for it, bitten or scratched by an Alpha and had no intention of ending her life. One I would've liked would be an undercover mission as a regular hunter in order to rescue a pack of wolves being held captive and to gain important information. But someone discovers Allison's true intentions and despite her skills and strength, ultimately gets killed for it but manages free the pack.

With this hypothetical storyline, it'll be like Season 6A and Stiles. It'll be centered around Allison and the others searching for their friend, but Allison doesn't ever appear on screen unless it was a flashback. Stiles did in the actual show, but in my alternate version, Allison won't because the actress left.

Scott and the others would steadily find clues that lead them through Allison's journey and ultimately discover that she died weeks or months ago. As for her father, he knew about her mission, regardless whether she told him or not, but didn't know what happened and couldn't find her.

Made the show better in my opinion lmao
