Since I am researching Teen Wolf, there is something I cannot stop thinking about.

In season 1, Derek said he buried his sister under Wolfsbane Spiral. Scott and Stiles found that body. Derek told them it was his sister. But then we see Cora very much alive in season 3. What am I missing?

The sister in season 1 is the older sister to Derek, her name is Laura Hale and she was the Hale Alpha before Peter Hale stole the Alpha power.

Cora Hale is Derek's younger sister and isn't in town at the time of Season 1.

Laura Hale was an older sister of his, murdered by Peter before the events of the show start. Cora is a younger sister, who survived the house fire and fled to South America, believing everyone in her family was dead. she came back to Beacon Hills when she heard word of a new Alpha and that it was Derek.

Derek has two sisters, Laura and Cora.

1. Laura Hale is his older sister, who became Alpha after the Hale House Fire and moved to New York with Derek, then after six years she came back to Beacon Hills and Peter killed her, which kicked off the season.

2. Cora Hale is his younger sister, who after the Hale House Fire ran away to Mexico for the next six years before she came back to Beacon Hills because she heard about a new Hale Alpha. No one knew she had survived.

Understandable confusion since no one mentions Cora before s3. And no one mentions her again after.

Sometimes I feel like she is just a mass hallucination.
