Accidentally had an alcoholic chocolate, what do I do

I'm 24/M and have never had any alcohol in my life. I'm on vacation and had a free sample at a chocolate shop that was not listed as alcoholic, before seeing later that it was marked as "Contains Alcohol" elsewhere in the store. I feel like I got tricked into having alcohol and am not sure how to feel, does anyone have anything similar that happened or anything I feel lost

Ignore it and move on with your life. It’s fine. Probably as much alcohol in a couple of overripe bananas and it wasn’t intentional

Thank you for this. I knew I was being crazy but having this affirmation from someone in the community was very needed, thank you

Not crazy at all, it caught you off guard, it’s not happened before and it’s something you care strongly about. It’s an understandable human response.  It will happen again at some point in your life and you’ll find it less worrying.

I agree, could be similar to a small amount of swallowed mouth wash so no worries but I would be annoyed if it wasn’t labeled too

There is alcohol is so many things. It is just that the amount of alcohol in those things is so low that you dont feel any intoxicating effects.

Vanilla, some deserts, cough medicine, mouthwash, NA beer... the list is exhausting of what contains low amounts of alcohol.

That chocolate doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

It literally has warnings on the label not to drink if you're pregnant because it contains alcohol.

Very recently I was at a catered brunch and grabbed what I thought was a glass of just OJ. It took me swallowing the first sip to be certain--it was a mimosa.

It was one sip, I took it by accident, didn't drink more after that. Doesn't change the fact that I'm teetotal. Maybe if I'd drank the whole thing or took that sip intentionally that'd be a little different.

Same happened to me at a wedding. I thought it was off orange juice.

Two options:

  1. Induce vomiting
  2. Nothing
