It was actually launching something?

No, he parked it there so he could go creep on some underage girls on a pontoon boat.

Nothing wrong with that, I think that's still fine. That's not just a car, though. It's a lifestyle. A European sports utility vehicle. A wonderful machine. One could use it to traverse the Serengeti of their life.
It's not a starter car - it's a finisher car, a transporter of gods.

It’ll be on Facebook Marketplace next week with a salvage title and the title “Was totaled for a small scratch on the rear bumper.”

Well we don’t have to look at the ugly motherfucker anymore. So that’s a positive.

Cars used to have this lever between the front seats that you pulled and the rear brakes would lock.
I wonder what happened to that.

How? How did thjs happen? My guess is that the boat it was hauling was heavy, the ramp was steep, and the weight of everything just slipped in. I say this because that car will put itself in park if the driver gets out. The other possibility is the driver backed into the water intentionally, but that's harder to believe.

This thing is so common in my area that it might as well be a Civic.
I literally call it a boat because it's so huge.

I know nothing about cars - I don't even have a driver's license - so forgive me this question: can it still be saved if the motor wasn't submerged? It's not salt water either, so maybe if you really, really dry it well ... ?

I doubt that will be salvageable. Too many sensors and systems and total dismantle, cleaning and reassembly, no way to economically bring it back.

This makes me genuinely happy

Why? Are you jealous that someone can afford expensive car?
1
u/pope-burban-II 5h ago
No, it’s a bland slab of boredom on wheels.

It’s a luxury car. It supposed to be comfortable and luxurious, not sporty like some m3
