Fuck no! But I'm a cork, I couldn't do that without a tank and a weight belt.

My roommate and I went swimming 2 weeks ago and he was asking how I wasnt exhausted already and I demonstrated exactly what happens if I actually try to swim down. Came back up to him cracking up cuz my ass floats.

No, for various reasons.
I can't hold my breath that long, and I'm a weak and panicked swimmer

How do her ear drums not implode?

u/codereef 1d ago
Equalizing your ears underwater can be done pretty easily. There are a few techniques. The valsalva maneuver is very common, and with practice you can even equalize without squeezing your nose. Surprisingly it is actually more difficult to equalize nearer to the surface because of the proportional change in pressure from air to underwater versus going a bit deeper while already underwater.

If i knew how to dive, i'd definitely do that. i love deep sea dives, the deeper the better.

u/TheRealNooth 1d ago
If I could do this, I’d probably still prefer to bring oxygen. Needlessly risky.

Oh yeah of course. A proper deep dive with oxygen. But i was speaking hypothetically since i dunno how to dive at all and have never been anywhere in deep water.

Can someone explain to me how tf people can swim that deeply without their ears imploding?

Equalization techniques changing the pressure. Frenzel or VTO. Takes practice

I dont even like the ocean lol. I really wanna go on a boat sometime and go somewhere its just water in all directions, but I'll stay out of the water if I can help it. At least here it doesnt have that gross vegetation on the bottom like the lakes ive been to.

No, I can’t hold my breath to even get to the jumping point, let alone for another minute while she falls down the abyss.

I literally ran out of breath before the clip ended. I'm certain that this little stunt is not in my immediate future.

Nope - just watching this I can feel something chasing me. I’m 100% sure that something is waiting for me there.

Ever since I saw the video of the scuba diver involuntarily sinking to the bottom of the ocean, hell no.
