Aaron and Justin hosted a TDP watch party on the TDP discord server to celebrate with the fandom for reaching over 10,000 followers on the TDK kickstarter. We managed to watch the following episodes with Aaron and Justin discussing the development and character storylines:
The Final Battle season 3 episode 9
Moment of Truth season 6 episode 6
Nova season 7 episode 9
Wonderstorm announced they’ll be attending at NYCC 2025 hosting a panel to reveal more surprises for the TDK Kickstarter campaign.
Justin unexpectedly announced that the TDK kickstarter will launch on September 16 as well as revealing new concept art of Soren!
Wonderstorm attended the PAX event hanging out with the fandom in person for 4 whole days straight winning prizes, making art, getting exclusive buttons, even receiving extreme clothing!

Other than just give prizes and doing activities not much really happened at PAX when it came to new info.
The whole watch party was pretty much meh, cause it in many ways reinforced what people already felt/thought when it came to how they handled the writing and the characters.
Also Silksong releases in September, so a lot of money is going to be used buying that lol
As for the Kickstarter? All I can really say is reality is likely to be very crushing.
I'm going to assume the Kickstarter will last for 60 days to maximise the chances of them reaching there goal whatever it is, assuming it's something small. Because they sure as hell aren't getting $10,000,000 to fund an entire season.
If it's for 30 days and they expect an entire seasin to be funded... well that's an impressive amount of delusion.
Either way this Kickstarter is going to make or obliterate them.

I'm pretty sure this KS is being used to bring awareness & not solely 2 fund a season. For every Vox Machina success story on KS there's like 10 that fail.
If they are funding for a season at best (being a longshot) they may get enough for a pilot episode.

The purpose of the Kickstarter, as they say is to get funding so they can find a new streaming service. But if we're reading between the lines, they absolutely want enough to fund a season, so they can use that as proof. This Kickstarter is a double edged sword. If it doesn't do well, everyone's going to know.
Wonderstorm are in a position where it's pretty much a well known universal fact, that The Dragon Prince already had seven seasons beforehand on Neflix. A series that they intentionally chose to not even bother trying to finish. With the viewing figures of said show being public knowledge.
Getting enough funding to make a single pilot episode, to pitch to a streaming service is not going to cut it. In fact that would look pathetic.
If I was a streaming service, and I saw their supposed fanbase, only gave them enough funding for a single pilot episode. While also knowing that Neflix refused to Greenlit addition seasons. I wouldn't even dream of taking such a risk, investing my money in a series that's clearly declining.

This sub has become the most jaded, glass half-empty forum I’ve seen in years. The fun’s been completely sucked out of here and it’s depressing.

That's what happens when a show that people initially enjoyed, and were interested in, ends up regressing into something disappointing, with a mix of the creators themselves disrespecting the very fans, that they expect to support the show.
People have became jaded and unenthusiastic about the show, because of the years of mismanagement and wasted potential. It's not unwarranted. It's a natural reaction to the shows evident decline, and having their thoughts and criticisms completely ignored, while being lied to, and mislead for years.

Visit twitter, discord, tumblr, or even youtube and you’ll find more people who still enjoy it. Someone here and there will tell you they didn’t like the arc, but the majority will say the opposite.

I've visited all those platforms and from what I've seen opinions have been very divided and vocal, especially after what happened with season 7.

Wonderful, then you are going to stop coming here and spend your time somewhere more like-minded then, yeah?

The sub was always where I would go to talk about the series. The other places just weren’t the same.

So they decided to launch when everyone is distracted with the start of school? With consumers entering saving mode for the holiday spending season?
.... Are they trying to make it extra hard on themselves?
