Question thinking about playing Prey (2017)
Hi, you might have seen my post a week ago about being too scared to play the game half-life. Yes, I know. I’m very easily scared.
Anyway, I keep hearing about the game prey, the 2017 one, and thinking about trying it. Is it scary? Will I be jump scared?
The biggest thing that gets me in games in the feeling of walking though a dark hallway not knowing what’s around the corner. Does that happen in this game?
Thanks 😁

27m looking for friends
Hey everyone, I’m looking for friends to play some co-op games with. I play on Steam and I’m really into shooters and RPGs. I’m in Eastern Standard Time (US). I’m pretty shy, but I’m trying to make some new friends with similar interests. My Steam friend code is 103782424 — let’s play some games!

Self-Promotion After a long journey, I finally released my first game on Steam
Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on this project for many months, solo, and it’s finally out now. It feels surreal to see it live.
I’d love to hear your thoughts or just share the excitement with you all. Thanks to everyone who supports small/indie games — it really keeps us going.
My game: Just Cube

Self-Promotion Making a weird dance/rhythm game about BrrBrrPatapim, what do you think?
I’m working on a small absurd dance/rhythm game called TumTumTum:Dance Party. The main goal is to make people laugh while still feeling the rhythm.

Thoughts on the Battlefield 6 weapons being open to all classes?
I think EA is going to stick with this to appease the COD crowd. I actually don't mind it either. With carbines being available to all classes from previous titles I don't think it makes much of a difference anyways. Don't like SMG's for engi, just pick a carbine. Afraid of LMG's, just pick a carbine. Now you can choose something else other than that.

Discussion Anyone else think Silent Hill’s soundtrack is hauntingly beautiful?
Every time I listen back to Akira Yamaoka’s work, I get chills. It’s not just creepy-it’s strangely emotional and almost comforting in a weird way. Do you guys have a favorite track?

Discussion Easily Scared Gamer
So, I've heard a ton about the half-life series. I finally decided to get Half Life 1 and the two expansions. I'm an hour in, and I just can't do it. I thought this was an FPS, not a horror game. I'm getting jumpscared every time I turn a corner.
I really want to enjoy this game, but it's not what I expected. Does anyone have any tips? Is it supposed to be like this? Does it get better, or worse?

Self-Promotion I created a persistent strategy game where you rule by giving commands to an AI council.
Hey Reddit,
For the past few months, I've been working on a passion project called AI Kingdom, and I'm excited to share it with you all.
I've always loved deep strategy and kingdom-building games, but I felt that the interaction often boiled down to clicking through menus. My goal was to create a game where you feel like you're actually ruling, where your words have weight, and your story is truly your own. AI Kingdom is a free, browser-based, persistent world game where you do just that.
Here’s what makes it different:
## Speak to a Living Council
Instead of a toolbar with buttons, your primary interface is a council of six AI-powered ministers, each with their own personality and expertise.
- You don't click "Recruit Army." You select your blunt Minister of War and type, "We need to bolster our northern garrisons. Recruit 1000 soldiers immediately."
- You don't drag a tax slider. You tell your meticulous Minister of Finance, "The treasury is running low. Set the national tax rate to 30%."
- Each minister understands your commands, offers advice, and carries out your orders, all while evolving the narrative of your kingdom.
## Forge Your Own Narrative
The game world is driven by an AI storyteller. You'll face unique problems called "Royal Memorials" that are generated based on your kingdom's specific situation. The best part? There are no multiple-choice answers.
- If a plague breaks out in a region, you don't choose between Option A, B, or C. You write your own decree: "Enforce a strict quarantine on the afflicted region, but ensure our royal physicians distribute food and medicine to the innocent civilians within."
- The AI evaluates the creativity and effectiveness of your written solution, which then permanently shapes the history of your kingdom and determines your reward. Your decisions truly matter and are recorded in your kingdom's unique story.
## A Persistent World of Diplomacy & Betrayal
AI Kingdom is a multiplayer world. You can see other player-run kingdoms on the world map and interact with them.
- Deep Diplomacy: Form Non-Aggression Pacts, share intelligence, and even create a high-risk, high-reward Alliance Economy where you and your ally can prosper—or collapse—together.
- Strategic Warfare: Conquest isn't about who has the biggest army number. Your attacking force is determined by the total soldiers garrisoned on your tiles adjacent to the target. This makes strategic positioning, terrain, and well-fortified borders paramount to any campaign. Capturing an enemy's Capital means total victory.
The game is free to play and runs directly in your browser, so there's nothing to install.
I'm actively developing it and would love to get your feedback.

Self-Promotion Kittenship Care is OUT NOW on Steam!
Our small dev team came together with a simple but meaningful goal: to create something that would challenge us, help us grow in our individual disciplines, and bring us one step closer to breaking into the games industry. That goal became Kittenship Care.
Kittenship Care is a cozy sim/management game about fostering rescue kittens, caring for their needs, and preparing them for adoption, all while decorating and customizing your home to make it the perfect space for your feline guests.
We didn’t set out to make the next big open-world epic or craft a narrative that redefines the medium. We just wanted to make something that feels good. A peaceful, low-pressure experience where you can relax, unwind, and spend a couple of hours in a warm, cat-filled space. It’s a shorter experience, but one we hope leaves you smiling. (And if you enjoy unlocking everything, there’s a bit more to discover, too!)
We’re so excited to finally share it with you, and we’d love to hear your thoughts! 💛

Discussion The difficulty curve in extraction shooters is often just a matter proper training mission
I've played both Tarkov and Arena Breakout and Arena has one thing that makes getting into the game much easier: proper training.
Yes, realism and high stakes are core parts of these games, and that's not going away but Tarkov could definitely benefit from a more adequate onboarding experience.
Game not actually that hard, if explained properly.
