Murray's dad in his first vs. second appearance
Why they hire different actors?

I like Paul Sorvino, but I think Judd Hirsch ended up being perfect for the part.

I also want to know why they switched Jackie? I don't care for the second one.

Oh, I know. Rowan Blanchard did a MUCH better job with the character of Jackie. Apparently they wanted her to stay on but it was her personal choice to leave. They also switched Charles Kremp from whoever the actor was in season 1 to the real Chad Kremp playing his own dad(as they did with the real Emmy playing her character's mom, real Brea B playing her character's mom and real Jackie playing her character's mom).

The second guy looks alot like Murrays actual dad. They show a picture on the poker episode

If memory serves me correctly Adam commented that Paul was difficult on set

Well, that's not shocking. He's an old Italian man stuck in his ways, like my grandfather was(RIP Grandpa).

They also changed the actress for Jane bales character and re-use characters for different roles. I guess if you’re not really paying attention you wouldn’t notice lol

Yeah, the original Jane Bales was Leslie Grossman from American Horror Story. I think the second Jane Bales played the character better though.

Paul Sorvino (Mira's father -Goodfellas Uncle Pauly) was his dad the first 3 seasons. He actually made like 3 appearances-the last being when he took Adam to see ET, kept calling him Barry and called him a moron, infuriating Murray. Then, in season 3 or 4, Judd Hirsch started playing his dad. I believe it was either in the answering machine war episode or the Thanksgiving episode where they saw him at the grocery store. I think Judd Hirsch did a better job. I remember him from a show called "Dear John" when I was a kid. And Paul Sorvino was awesome in Goodfellas as Uncle Pauly(always been one of my favorite movies) but that's the lane he was best in (Italian gangster/Mafia movies).

Hmm, well then maybe the granpa was supposed to be a one off character at first? Until pop-pops actor passed at least

Wouldn’t you hire Judd Hirsch if you could? I think the switch was brilliant.
