I finished it yesterday, quite interesting seeing the perspective of common people. I do wish there was more additional lore though. This mostly had stuff we already knew about.

Agreed, would've loved if they dropped some new lore about past Earthbender Avatars.

Yeah, but at the same time, there’s no reason a random Earth Kingdom citizen is going to know or care about Earth Avatars prior to Kyoshi. The number of centuries between Szeto’s unnamed predecessor (no, his name is not confirmed to be Salai, don’t come at me with that misinformation) and Jin is like 6 or so.

I wanted more lore about things that were happening in the city, specially when the white lotus came in. Also, What were their connections to the city, if any

We find that out have you read the book. they had contacts with the nobility and underworld. Along with the Dai Li basically arresting the entire military high command. Which explains why the occupation collapsed so quickly. They without control over the king and control of the grandsecarariat which is a constitutional title basically had zero popular support to rule and were quickly overthrown once the surprise of the takeover wore off.

That's interesting since we know the dai Lee return to power by korras time.

Except they weren't in power they were effectively reduced to puppets of the queen and didn't hold political power.

True, either way, I wonder how much the city changed post-war, considering how things ended. I have a feeling they went back to their old ways.
