Both Mako and Bolin have seen it before a few times but aren't used to it. Korra has seen it once before. Asami is seeing it for the first time.

My reaction to the Seven Haven’s announcement.

Why? It's far too early to react like that when we know almost nothing about it. If it ends up being bad, that will be decided once the show airs bare minimum but more than likely, it will be a good show if not a great show.

I dislike the basic premise of the setting getting destroyed and becoming post apocalyptic.
I wanted to see how the Avatar world would adapt & change modern technology and society, how the Avatar would fit into a modern world, but now we know that we’re never getting that.

Wasn't Korra already that? We had Korra and the Krew interacting with cars, radios and all sorts of technology.
Did you just want the next Avatar show to have smart phones and tablets and focus on the internet? Because that was never going to happen since even Korra with its focus on technology didn't include it as too much of a central focus since it isn't technology that makes Avatar unique, its the abilities and powers and interesting world.

Korra was a 1920s-esque world. I wanted Avatar in an 1990s/2000s-esque world, and to see how the existence of bending, spirits, and the Avatar would make that setting different from the real world’s 1990s/2000s.

What's the difference? It isn't like Avatar is going to suddenly become an isekai and we'll see Avatar Pavi or whoever dealing with cyberbulling, drones and smart phones. I think focusing on making the Avatar world like our world is a mistake and I'm glad that the new series is focusing on making the Avatar world more distinctly unique from our world as appose to being the 1920s with an Avatar or the 1990s with an Avatar.

I don’t like that it’s post apocalyptic because it means everything Aang and Kora worked for was for nothing.
But I can’t describe how glad I am that we’re not getting a modern day avatar. If I had to watch the avatar interact with some obnoxious streamers I’d have been so disappointed.
Frankly I’d have preferred they picked some random avatar/era we knew nothing about and written a story around that.

You don’t have to have streamers in a story set in the modern day.
Example: Most action movies set in the modern day.

Asami kinda looks like the Earth Queen here
