What is /r/TheSilphRoad?
The Silph Road is primarily focused on discoveries and analysis related to Pokemon GO, as well as constructing an in-person network of Pokemon GO enthusiasts. General discussion topics (Jokes, stories, a photo of a recent catch) would likely be better suited for another subreddit, such as a general subreddit like /r/PokemonGO, or /r/Pokemon, or a subreddit with a more specific focus, like /r/PokemonGoSnap, /r/PokemonBuddy, /r/ShinyPokemon, /r/PoGoRaids, /r/TheSilphArena, /r/PokemonGOTrades, /r/PokemonGOFriends, or /r/NianticWayfarer.
Silph Road Content Policy
The Silph Road is heavily moderated to promote civility/courtesy, and high-quality content and discussion. You can read our full policies in the sidebar, but don't be surprised if a comment is removed for being rude, cynical, or off-topic. We strive to foster civil discussion about the game. We are first and foremost a network of real people, and this network is being built by volunteers! If you simply want to complain or bring something to Niantic's attention, your post would be better suited elsewhere.
Research
The community culture here also attracts the more analytically-minded element of Pokemon GO. Consequently, the Silph Research group was formed to align this brainpower and leverage the massive Silph datasets that the community can gather. We post our findings in infographics, videos, and walls of text on Reddit. Check out the top bar for links to the current pools.
Final words
Finally, welcome once more! We're glad to have you join us on the Road :)

Megathread - Event Pokemon Concierge Celebration Event
Everything you need to know about the event, all in one place. A lot of these pieces will be verified by the Silph Research Group, so throughout the post we'll use the formatting:
- Italics: Reports from comments or single Research Group report
- Bold: Multiple Research Group reports
Also note that (s) will be used for species whose shiny form is available, and (s?) for new shinies that we haven't seen yet.
This verification isn't meant to replace reports here, rather to provide an extra level of verification and depth to the event. Travelers are always welcome to join here and help out with data collection: https://discord.gg/WpAvRRsaRT
Have fun and stay safe this week!

Verification Shiny costume Psyduck
Didn't see anyone post it yet.
It was a rare spawn. I saw 100's of Sealo and Corphish but only 3 Psyducks on a 7km walk

PSA Psyduck caught through rainy lure modules don't have costumes
Haven't seen anyone mention this. I caught a few with costume nearby so the event is active and thought I'd try with rainy lure modules. Save your modules.

Question Crowned Zacian/Zamazenta max move priority for someone not that into max battling
Hi, legitimate question here.
I have two maxed out Crowned Zacian (one with second move added) and one maxed out Crowned Zamazenta (second move added). Also several of both @ lvl 40.
I'm not really that interested in participate in gmax battles, I've never attended one as a matter of fact. What I'm interested in is how to cheaply as possible make the best use of the dogs in dmax battles, mostly solo, but perhaps also with a couple of friends. I'm willing to spend dust and rare candy but not XL candy. I've tried to read up on this but come up with no real answer. I read somewhere that Behemoth Bash on Zamazenta doesn't increase damage but let you use other max abilities? It all feels very confusing. I haven't powered up any other max eligible pokemon, but unlocked moves before one some of them. They all seem very weak compared to the dogs.
What would you do and what would you prioritize if you were in my position? Keep in mind I won't spend any XL candy. I'm F2P, enjoys regular raids and PVP.
TIA

Bug The Allister mask makes your outfit pixilated now for some reason
After the update I was like “Huh, my shirt looks pixilated now.” and after a little testing it seems like wearing the mask was causing the messed up textures.

Bug Where are the Psyducks??
I've caught about a 1000 mons since the event started and only 1 Psyduck, which was at the very beginning and the radar was showing a lot of them around but none after catching the first one. All I'm seeing are corfishes and sealeos 😭

Question Why are rocket counter suggestions always so bad?
Whenever the game automatically picks counters for a rocket battle, they are terrible. The pokemon it picks are mid level (I have 500+ higher CP and same moveset versions of haxarous and Metagross), and also terrible type combinations. The grunt is a grass type, and it chooses steel, dragon, and water moves against it. Could it at least pick a single fire type, of which I have plenty maxed? I find this is the case for every rocket grunt, I need to manually choose pokemon to even get a good type matchup

Discussion Research did not reset at 10am for event
Did anyone else find that their pokestops did not reset research tasks with the start of the event? I work at a large university and have 6 stops at my office but all of them had the same task this morning pre-event and after the event started at 10. Anyone finding similar issues?

PSA New shirt is now live (free). Fun fact: You could buy this shirt at the Pokemon Center (couple years back I think)

Bug Buddy shadow in evolve screen
I just noticed this while completing a research task. My buddy's shadow is taking a casual stroll across the bottom of the evolve screen (Zacian). Is this an old bug? 🤔

Discussion Gym data... all of it.
If I understand correctly, you only see the last 1000 gyms you've visited when you look in the app. That 1000 cap also applies the map view to see where you've been. But the data itself must still exist because if you revisit a gym after going to 1000 others, the game has to maintain your level on the gym, that you've visited it before etc.
I'm not aware of a way to get at your full gym data other than to track it manually yourself (and I'm way too far into the game for that now {too lazy?}. But it would be really cool to have an export feature or something. I understand not loading all that data into the client but I really like the map functionality... poke around and see where I've visited or done remote raids.
Any chance this could happen? How could we advocate?
