Megathread - Event Pokemon GO's 9th Anniversary Party Event Megathread
Everything you need to know about the event, all in one place. A lot of these pieces will be verified by the Silph Research Group, so throughout the post we'll use the formatting:

I've seen a few pokestops turn golden today but everytime i spun one it'd turn back to blue, then when I was able to spin again it became gold until interacting with the stop.
Not sure if I've misunderstood how they work or if there's a bug stopping us from getting coins from stop atm

Same. Pretty sure I got coins for the first one and then the next five or so turned normal as soon as I spun them with no coins.

Does anyone know if shiny Gimmighoul can be transferred to Home? Or are they all the costumed 9th anniversary versions and can't be transferred? This is the first time the shiny of the roaming form has been released, so it would be a real tease if we can't transfer it

The roaming form wasn't available in those raids, it's go only. I know you're just making a joke but it's important I think to keep in mind this is a full on shiny release of the form!

Does this mean, the chance is when I put normal lure it may turn into a golden one, or like every hour a pokestop may turn golden without any lures?

2 hours in here in Australia and so far with over 70 stops in view i saw one turn golden... How that rate makes it a feature of the event I don't know. I get it, it's supposed to be rare, but surely when you focus an event around it it should be higher than this.

Ive seen at least 15 gold stops on my map im Sydney at the rocks and every time walk over to it reverts back to a normal stop I thinks there’s a bug

From my observation it's quite randomized. If you sit in a pokestop cluster one moment none could be golden but poof they could be in a second. And they seem to despawn as quick as they spawn.

Previously, when PH Charmander and Squirtle got the ability to evolve, wild spawns of their final evolutions would be wearing the hat as well. Has anyone seen wild Venusaur with a party hat?

it's hilarious how rare coins are for gimmighoul. Niantic acts like gholdengo should be one of the grindiest Pokemon in the game to get. I get like 20 coins per bag if that, and who wants to walk around for 30 minutes doing this tedious task

Does anyone have any information on the coin limit for spinning gold stops? It states in the event info “Chance of finding 9 or 99(or maybe more!) Gimmighoul Coins when you spin a PokéStop with a Golden Lure Module.” Has anyone got more than 99 yet?

Nope. You get half an hour per day and that's it. Or you can save a coin bag from a previous day and use it, then get a new one and use that one in the same day if you want an hour.

Seems the non costume can spawn from a coin box, would assume the same from a gold lure but Gimmi is a very rare spawn from them and harder to catch compared to coin box spawns

Day one 1 got 200 gimmicoins following a route that was lined with gold stops.
So far for the last two days I’ve only gotten 36 more following roughly the same route.
I don’t work any of the switch games, thinking maybe I should get it just to get the job done.

This is my experience too. Did 100 trades with an hour left of the event. 4 luckies. Compare that with an average of 30-40 every other day of the event. Seems like they may have messed up.

The boost for random lucky trades seems minimal. Or maybe just bad luck. Did 100 trades, got 4 lucky. UPDATE with some stats: 5 days x 100 trades = 23 lucky. Comes close to standard 5%. 10 best friends x 5 days daily interactions = 1 lucky friend. Much worse than standard 5% rate xD

Anyways does anyone know what all of the party hat Pokemon spawns are? Because I've seen a few; I've seen grimer and eevee and of course the ones that are mentioned in the blog (the Kanto starters) of course but does anybody know what other Pokemon are spawning or is it just a grimer and eevee?

I've seen 4 gold lures today from my house (one on my house) and each time I try and spin one it reverts to being blue just as I spin and no coins are awarded. So... is it even possible to spin them while gold or is this just broken?

Manually applied a golden lure, got 6 spins out of it, n got 236 coins out of them. No gimmighoul spawns off the lure. One of our group got the 99 drop 3 times. If you have the golden lures, it is very reasonable to get enough coins to evolve gimmighoul during this event

Mystery box can spawn meltan ~30s, even if you are stationary
Coin bag is the same when you are walking, but it will only spawn a gimmighoul every 5 mins if you are stationary

The limiting g factor is that you can o my send one postcard a day, so you should be able to carry one over n use two in a day

You are correct. If you are for example 57 days from best friends and you have an interaction it will go to 55 days from best friends

Yeah, same here. Down 5 coin bags and not a single shiny, 4 of those bags were opened after the supposed fix. I just keep getting excessively large amounts of the event one but none have been shiny so far. Feeling like it’s not fixed in every region as I’m from Europe.

Not even a shiny of the event one for me. Luckily my first bag wasn’t until after the fix and am saving the day I can use 2 for when the costume one wont be spawning, but it would really help me mentally to get at least one before that to lift the burden from my mind.

I’m just hoping that Gimmighoul will have some kind of boosted shiny odds since (at least from what I’ve heard) it’s only available during this event, kinda like how the handle Meltan and Smeargle. Needing to get 5 shinies is gonna be rough

Calling BS on the boosted lucky trade rate. Partner and I have about 150 trades between yesterday and today, 6 luckies, which is not only lower than the boosted rate, but a bit lower than the normal rate. Obviously could be bad luck, but that's quite a swing.

Didn’t see any mention of it being locked after the event on the announcement. They did mention that disclaimer for Meltan and Smeargle unless they’re too lazy or forgot about it given Niantic’s lack of proper communication with the community about these sort of things
