I got lucky years ago out of the blue with that one and thank god because I bet I haven't clicked on 20-30 of them since then. I don't think it's been featured in an event since early pandemic times. Zero reason for some of these pokemon to disappear like they have for years upon years.
I mean I can only speak for myself but Farfetch'd is one of my favorite Pokemon of all time and I'd want to farm him just to get a shiny version to partner with. /shrug
My strategy has been to not do anything I don't have to. Especially, not evolving Pokemon, powering up, unlocking or leveling max moves and things like that.
I'll do those things only if I have a mission or my kid and I are trying to duo a raid boss.
I do wish I had dropped my 2k egg in the incubator instead of my 10k earlier today, but I've also learned to horde incubators.
It's still weird to me that the best strategy is often to not do something that you can, and to wait for missions.
Do we know if the Mega Raid bosses will have their Comm Day moves? My sis started playing a few weeks ago, and it'd be nice to be able to get her a charizard with Blast Burn without making her grind candies for evolution.
Do you have any source? It only specifies through evolution in all channels and they've pulled that gotcha before. Though I believe the Kanto starters had it in wild last time they all got the moves in an event (Rediscover Kanto)
I'm not getting the special moves when evolving. Evolved charmeleon and didn't get blast burn and evolved wartortle but didn't get hydrocannon. What am I doing wrong?
I just evolved a 4* ivysaur & wartortle and 98% charmeleon and got the moves on all 3.
Does the shadow charmeleon still have fustration? That takes precedence over the special move. No reason for the dmax blastoise to be excluded, though.
Give it an hour or so and then try again. I got all 5 right in a row yesterday and then today only got two. Then I came back later for the Kang research and got three more.
Whoops, I didn’t realize the free timed research was only 24 hours. Already missed Farfetched. Not sure I will be able to complete any of them. Just not enough time in the day to catch 50, and you need to be out and about to get enough spawns. Oh well.
It sounds like a lot, but isn't so bad. I spent an extra ~30 minutes on my drive home from work, stopping at some larger parking lots and parks along the way where I know there are a lot of spawns.
That plus a few around home and the 5 photo bomb encounters made this not too bad. Certainly not as bad as it looks.
I know, I managed to get Kangaskhan with a Field Research stack I hadn’t gotten around to claiming last night. Today I finished the research because I was more aware of it. I’m just sad I missed Farfetched because I didn’t realize it was 24 hours.
Out of the 95 Kanto starters I caught today, I did get more Squirtle, than the other two (27 Bulbasaur, 31 Charmander, 37 Squirtle), but one of the hours of play was classified as "Rainy weather", so maybe that influenced the spawns for me.
I have a feeling it might be dependent on some A/B testing or egg tasks as well. I have hatched 4 eggs since making the original comment and have only gotten 10kms
Are mega eggs spawning anymore frequently than normal? With 4 different bosses if the spawn rate isn’t higher it seems like it might be tricky to find the exact mega you want?
Is anyone having problems with the paid ticket for Kanto not activating? I'm seeing there should be 3 pages of research but only seeing one and the ticket is still in my item bag.
Is the paid ticket worth it at all to get research level kanto birds? Want to make sure I’m not missing out on something good for PVP, but if not I have all the kanto birds anyways
Caught a Pinsir today and saw 3-4 more on the nearby tab. I haven't seen a single one in the wild since I started playing this spring. Might be a rare spawn for the event like Venonat.
And btw Pinsir mega energy is available through party play with the 'Win a raid' task. Gives 20 energy for a party of 2 and 35 energy for a party of 3.
I evolved a squirtle and it didn't count towards the collection challenge. There is a red atomic icon next to it in the challenge which means you have to evolve one.
I have the wartortle sitting their, but didn't get credit for it.
I got credit for the evolution on other onesin the collection.
Any idea what's going on? Is it a bug that can be resolved somehow?
They're spawning but rare. I've seen 2 Jigglypuff so far but everything else has been the starters, Pidgey, Gastly, Weedle, Magikarp, Snorlax and Chansey. Other Kanto I've seen once were Doduo and Diglett.
is it just me or are photobombs not as reliable and event field research not as plentiful? photobombs i thought as long as you change the mon and put it on the map first, first picture for each would show the photobomb. and seems harder to find event field research
Just got my first shiny pidgey (during his spotlight hour) in almost 700 views lol. Tbf the large majority of those were before it bacame shiny eligible but still thought it was pretty awesome to finally get one.
Screw that collect 400 Max Particles task for the XP challenge. I have ober 3000 from the last monthly pass and can't even use a particle pack. There are very few max spots around, and most of them are 1*.
Edit: I'm a little dumb, I guess. Forgot that I can use max particles to power up moves, then I only needed 1 spot + the 300 from walking 2 km.
