Megathread - Event Exclusive Timed Research during the Pokémon GO World Championship - Megathread, Thursday
During the live streams of the World Championship access to an exclusive Timed Research will be given through codes via Pokémon GO Twitch chat. Codes will be redeemable for an hour, each code will give the same Timed Research, you can only redeem one of those codes.
We ask you to collect all codes in this thread! To better find the current code scroll down and use the first code you see - comments are by default sorted by newest first.

4YW5Z4EB6RV8U - This is the code for the special research, the code changes every hour but there is only one special research that you can get. WRGUZRVKRR2M3 - This is the code for the tshirt avatar item. Redeem both codes by searching for the “Niantic redeem code” page on Google.

But it's all for the same single event, right? So if we get a code tomorrow, it's for the same Timed Research as today, and you can only do it one time, so you wouldn't need a code on Saturday after that? Am I understanding it correctly?

From the official announcement: *These codes will only be redeemable for one hour after they are shared, so please try to redeem a code as quickly as possible. If you are not able to redeem one in time, there will be multiple opportunities to receive a code throughout the broadcast. The Timed Research is the same for all codes and can only be redeemed once.

correct, just need to redeem the one timed research code *per day*, make sure you don't do any of the research till after 10am local time as any pokemon you catch from it will not have potential special moves.

I may be wrong but my understanding is that each day there is a different timed research line you can get a code for.
At the very least as long as you redeem a code today you do not need to worry about anymore codes for the day. Tomorrow might bring different research or not. will know for sure tomorrow I guess.
Edit: from the mega thread linked above they state "Further timed researches will be available each day (thurs/fri/saturday) using a code given in the twitch stream. Separate threads will be created to track those codes and quests, and linked here once the codes are available." so it sounds like each of the next 3 days should have a different timed research

Step 2: Use a charged TM, Power up Pokemon 10 times, and defeat 3 Rocket grunts. Each step gives you one of your chosen 'team' Pokemon.
Step 3: Battle a trainer in great league, win a battle in great league, win 5 battles in GL. All step 3 tasks give stardust.

1/3 was cool getting 3 star pieces, feel like for 2/3 they could've of given an unevolved version + enough candy to evolve something like talon flame, part of the event is getting exclusive moves that are great for pvp and then they give you pvp pokemon without their exclusive moves... at least the candy is nice just got to find a decent fletchling to evolve but they are hard to find.
Edit: Turns out due to Niantic being poor planners/coders you can complete timed research before the event even begins and thus will not get special moves if you do so, so beware of that.
Rant: Of course they couldn't make it so if you claimed a code it showed up but had a timer counting down to 10am to activate, or just make it so the Pokemon that appears from the research has any moves they are supposed to during the event no matter when you catch it...

Is it because the event doesn't start till 10am local time and you can get the timed research before that? if so sounds like terrible programming / planning on their part.

If you attempt to redeem the Timed Research for a second time, it will not show anything. Current code (947...) is for timed research.
You could see if fthe shirts code, WRGUZRVKRR2M3, still works.

There's 1 code for the medal/timed research and other for the blue t-shirt (there's supposedly a red one for in-person people if they spin the Booth stop).
Haven't found what else is redeemed once you get those 2 however.

For anyone having trouble signing into the redemption webpage , you will need to open your Pokémon Go app, and link either your Google or Facebook account and sign in that way. When I tried to sign in using my Niantic credentials, it was constantly saying the username or password was incorrect (even though I had just signed in multiple times to Niantic’s main webpage). Hope this saves someone the trouble!

There's two types of codes, one for the shirts, one for the research. Each code is valid for only an hour, so there's gonna be a bunch of codes , but only 2 types.

I read that as 1 timed research line per day we will know for sure tomorrow I suppose but I'm guessing there is one each day.
