The Wire is a masterpiece but it doesn't save it from having some cringe moments Spoiler

Case in point: watching the actors and extras awkwardly try and sing along to Flogging Molly (?) in the cop bar during the detective's wake.

It's the Pogues, and it's one of the best moments in the series. But I do agree, lots of the scenes with Kima are shot in a way that feels kind of leery.

Okay apparently leery doesn't mean what I thought it did. They kind of sexualise Kima in the scenes with her partner, like the camera leers at her.

That is by design. The actual cringiest scene is when they interview the ship crew in season 2.

The wire is the greatest show ever that has a lot of imperfections and a lot of things to criticize about it, but this is NOT one of them wtf

There's some truth to this. He's fall-down, sloppy drink every single time.

I for one think he fucking nails it every time. He looks plastered, and it doesn't look acted to me at all.
