Just a heads up - I have seen Maggie’s Rum mentioned here before.

Maggie’s is Pittsburgh based and I’m pretty sure it is used at Hidden Harbor.

Their Hidden Harbor blend is legitimately my favorite rum, this stings.
There goes my Falernum supply

Speaking of... where does one get falernum now? Can I make a decent copycat at home?

It depends what style you want ?? i dont think there is anyone making the same recipe Maggies Farm produces

Well when my supply runs out I might give Velvet Falernum a try. Otherwise it'll be homemade

First off this is very sad. Never good to see stuff like that.
That said it felt like they expanded way too fast. Their cozy OG location was awesome, drinks were great (including their tiki stuff). Next thing you know they are opening this giant facility. Felt like a huge step for a rum that while has fans isn’t the talk of the tiki or rum world.
Also surprised as they expanded distro into my state they posted about shipping pallets upon pallets here but stores knew nothing about it, stores had hard time ordering it. No promo of it or anything once launched. Every time a new brand hits town it seems they do the bar circuit with tastings, collabs, events, etc. Nothing from them so I assume no local sales reps?

This is terrible. What the heck did the director do?

Hard to speculate about specifics, but words like "mishandled" and "misrepresent" generally imply fraud. Obviously take this with a grain of salt, but I think a fair guess would be that the director was falsifying financial statements and/or other key performance indicators/data in presentations to the company's ownership, leading them and the company's other employees to believe the company was in better financial shape than it actually was. Which would impact their decision-making in myriad ways.

Damn, every time I'd go back to Pittsburgh (lived there for three years for work, now back in Canadia) I'd pick up a bottle of falernum and rum, and also usually go for drinks. This sucks, all the staff were great and their falernum is my fav =/

Good luck. Pa Wine and Spirits website usually has stock for specific stores, so that's a great place to look. Not sure if you can order in advance for pickup.

As someone that lives in the area…I unfortunately never knew about this stuff. Wish I had gotten some, sad :(

If anybody in this thread is local. I just left the Monroeville store. There is 1 bottle of each left. Spiced Rum, White Rum, Hidden Harbor Rum, Falernum. Pineapple rum was sold out.

OP, do you have any publicly accessible source for this info?
