The best part is when he finally puts his mask back on and the cops are all immediately like "oh my god it's the devil ape, we're all gonna die!"

Like a lot of stories have the old guy who talks a big game but who actually sucks, TG lets him actually have been badass and cool.

That’s the fun part about it, to the ghouls he’s an annoying but reliable guy who likes to bring up his past as a trouble maker . To the investigators and cops he’s the mf devil ape and are scared

Yeah i loved this so much my first time reading. He really gives you this feeling of: "Sure buddy, now pour the damn coffee please" but he actually ends up being an infamously strong ghoul with his own whole ass gang

don't get me wrong but Koma-san's useless talk about him being Devil Ape is a really really good part of Tokyo Ghoul. if you showed this image to the dancing Anteiku members they'd laugh at first but then get bitter. depressing, i guess.
