I don't under the ending to the first tokyo ghoul manga

i understood the whole manga up until the cog started planning anteikus raid, first of all i don't remember seeing a single panel of them doing research on anteiku or yoshimura, also i only remember when the investigators were fighting with yoshimura and then the big monster that turned out to be a girl comes out its all so all over the place and it being in manga form makes it so much more complicated. could somebody just explain simply what happens in volume 13 please.

Hide basically offered “intel” that Kaneki (who the ccg assume is a ghoul/eyepatch) was connected to anteiku and followed a line of events related to the binge eater. This led Suzuya and Shinohara to investigate Anteiku. Shinohara felt that Yoshimura looked familiar and investigated on that hunch. The chairman at the time just said “the investigation team appears to have some leads” and determined that there are two owls. They only confirmed that when yoshimura was almost dead until his daughter Eto, the true one eyed owl, “protected” him. Tokyo ghoul:re will explain what Eto did with Yoshimura and life after the Anteiku raid (this is all i remember so don’t frame me lol)

There were 3 duo teams who were investigating the 20th Ward throughout Part 1: Amon and Mado (father and then daughter), Houji and Takizawa, and Shinohara and Suzuya, the last of which directly visited Anteiku a few volumes before

Furthermore, during Kuzen's backstory, we discover that he had been deeply affiliated with V during his youth. V is CCG's secret agency. Chances are they always knew where Yoshimura was, and inevitably they decided it was time to eliminate him

and then the big monster that turned out to be a girl comes out

The story was very sneaky with this. Up to this point we knew Yoshimura had a child, and that CCG fought both of them individually at separate times. We also knew Eto was far stronger than they initially let on. And we also knew of Sen Takatsuki, Kaneki's favorite author

The revelation was that all 3 characters were the same person all along

I would recommend rereading the volume more carefully, if only to understand the events better. And if I remember correctly, the special investigators were discussing the two Owls back in volume 11 or 12, alongside the Centipede.

:RE is the main manga? It’s literally a continuation. If you haven’t read :RE then you haven’t finished the manga, you’ve only read half of the story.
