For me it's the fact that it's so hard to make a top 15 best characters.

The second would be the fact that it has so many EXCELLENT arcs, normally other mangas have their "Pain Arc", or "Frieza Saga", or "Chimera Ants Arc", but in Tokyo Ghoul it's really hard to define which is the best arc.

And the last thing I think no one mentions is how at its lowest points (the later arcs of Re) it still has so many good things going for it, that it makes it hard to consider them bad arcs.

HII my updated Kaneki shrine!!! I’ve been collecting for some time! Kaneki is my favorite character ever and I don’t have any other shrine dedicated to any other character.

Bought both the box sets because I was pretty sure I would love TG. After one volume I can say I'm really enjoying it so far, I like how kaneki being a half ghoul is at least to start more of a curse than a power boost like every shounen.

I'm wondering though, do the themes and everything become more subtle? Right now pretty much everything is in my face. I'm talking about how they keep mentioning how ghouls can't eat food every time one of them eats food, or keneki continually talking about how he doesn't belong as a human or ghoul. I'm pretty sure TG is considered seinen but it's really pushing the story as if it were a shounen if that makes sense.

Idk just an observation not really a complaint.

So I think this is a section from the book Eto wrote but I’m not really sure what it’s suppose to mean/say. It interested me because I feel like it has some deeper connection with Kaneki or Eto’s life but I’m not sure what it is. Can someone explain it to me? (don’t mention/spoil anything past chapter 52 pls) Thanks!

i understood the whole manga up until the cog started planning anteikus raid, first of all i don't remember seeing a single panel of them doing research on anteiku or yoshimura, also i only remember when the investigators were fighting with yoshimura and then the big monster that turned out to be a girl comes out its all so all over the place and it being in manga form makes it so much more complicated. could somebody just explain simply what happens in volume 13 please.

tooru was going through something very similar to what kaneki experienced in the first & second season, where she experienced something extremely traumatic (but in a different way, because it was realizing she killed her whole family and had an alter ego pushing away any memories of her killing anyone)

her hair turned white as well which was briefly mentioned in the manga that kanekis hair became white because of a sudden high increase of rc cells (this is also why takizawa's hair became white) so im not sure why her rc cells got even lower, close to almost nothing when she became extremely strong and had full control over her kagune

its also clear in this page her kagune grew and excelled in power, yet its also noted how her rc cells have been completely suppressed

its totally different from any other ghoul thats really strong, they always have a really high rc count so how does this make sense in tooru's case??

(also this art is absolutely amazing i love tokyo ghoul so much!! )

I mean, about the hair, I don't know in the novels, in the RE manga it is mentioned that the RC suppressors made his hair turn black again and that's why it is assumed that the wear and tear of RC in the fight against Arima turned it white.

but the nails? I mean, I thought they hadn't regenerated yet from the torture, but even after the half-year timeskip they're still black. Did Nico paint them for fun while he was restrained and Kaneki just keep painting them because he liked it or something?
