I love my PS5 I really do but the fact that Xbox lets you customize your homepage and that it has all mainline TR games. Makes having an Xbox really worth it.

Yesterday's winner was ... Natla's Mines! Whether you love or hate it (personally, it's controversially one of my fave TR1 levels if not THE fave), I think it's the right answer: industrial, non-tomb-like feel with lots of random linear passages and human combat.

Next up we have: Which Tomb Raider 1 level feels the most like Tomb Raider 3? Very intrigued to see the results for this one...

I swear this was so awesome and satisfying back then and even now. I always liked how it was almost like a callback to how Lara had infinite ammo in the og games.

But that doesn't mean I'm not enjoying once again the hell out of it, modern controls help a lot too.

Also grateful that they did manage to incorporate dummied out content.

Underworld is a game that is dear to my heart but one that has a multitude of issues preventing it from realising its full potential. As the Legend trilogy remaster, by all accounts, a statistical inevitability at this point, I thought I'd have fun outlining some of the fixes and additions we might see in it that could truly make it my favourite Tomb Raider title.

I am not going to lie. I played this section for way too long. Obviously not a lot of progress was made but I was really stuck on the Lost City puzzle then when I figured it out I ended up dying.

If you remember my other posts you remember my favorite part of the game: scripted chase scenes!

That being said according to a walkthrough I am using specifically so I don't die on said chase scenes and get set back an hour or so. I should be almost done with the game.

After getting absolutely livid yesterday due to multiple deaths mostly via platforming (seriously there was one point where I told Lara to jump and she went the wrong way going off the cliff...) I decided to give it another shot today now that I'm more composed and I actually managed to do it. Luckily there was also a save point so great!

When I'm done I'm probably going to finally look at the other modes in the game.

Speaking of which I looked at a preview of Shadow of The Tomb Raider...I hope it won't be too bad when I get to it. But if it is I might just go for 100%ing ROTTR first.

Something I know for certain though is that I'm going to get the Extreme Survivor achievement once I'm finished. Let's go!

Angelina Jolie says she hated filming the first Tomb Raider movie because of the way Lara Croft was portrayed.

She described her character as nothing more than bimbo in a pair of ridiculously short hotpants.

That said, she recently finished filming the sequel Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, due for release this summer.

August 20, 2001 -- With Tomb Raider a hit, Angelina Jolie is ready to step into cyberbabe Lara Croft's boots again

She just has a stipulation or two. "We will need a unique script to match the first Tomb Raider movie … if we can make it a hundred times better, if we can do a whole bunch of new things, think of a whole new sequence, then we will do it," Jolie told the press at London's Heathrow airport on Sunday, according to the Scottish Daily Record.

Since Tomb Raider's script, co-written by director Simon West, was roundly trashed by critics, Jolie certainly has a point.

In June, the actress even asked fans, via an online chat, to send her story ideas for the sequel. "I think it would be great to base it on what people wanted [Lara Croft] to do, and what the fans want," she told the Montreal Gazette. The Canadian paper interpreted her call for fan-written storylines as code for "The writers haven't the faintest clue how to keep this ridiculous character going, and neither do I."

And the winner for Day 1 is.... St Francis' Folly. Not much of a surprise - for me, it was definitely between this and Palace Midas, as both include everything I think of when I think of TR1: real ancient tombs, level design themed around a core puzzle, big central chamber/room from which others spill out etc.

Now for day 2: Which Tomb Raider 1 level feels the most like Tomb Raider 2?

Today was a good day!

My TR journey started back in February 2024 with the launch of TR 1-3 remastered

I genuinely believe tomb raider 1-6 remastered to be the best remasters ever made! It appeals to both old a new players and the value of each is simply astounding for the cost.

Hardest game to 100% was definitely Rise of the tomb raider probably followed by shadow or angel of darkness

Hardest achievement: Bonding Time Endurance Co-op Challenge: Escape the forest after surviving for 7 days with at least 10 Artifacts

Funnest achievement: TR3 Capsule Pipelines Get on a quad bike and then get off it on top of a wrecked train in 39 seconds or less

And lastly my personal rankings of the games from a completion view

TR3: best game best achievement hunting

Tr2: very close but just falls shy of the top spot

Tr5: I love tr5 and the achievements really help to make the game fun

Tra best of the LAU games IMO would be higher but the classics mostly have more going for them

Tru: base game was a great achievement hunt but the DLC speed run achievements are rough

trl: this would be top of the LAU games if it didn’t require another replay of TRA

Tr4 length and a weird variety of achievements put it here.

Aod : new game plus exclusively puts this here or it would be higher I played strahov fortress 20 times as the guards and the turrets just ruined it

Tr1: I will be 100% honest the achievements for this one actually soured my opinion of tr1 the no heal achievement and also the buggs at launch really make this a bitter sweet spot

Ttoo: great game just a long grind if playing solo (this was the most glitchy achievement wise bar tr1)

TrDE: mainly due to ranked matchmaking achievements (but was surprised how quick the grind went)

Rottr: Hated this don’t think I will ever do it again

I just find myself doing it all the time lol

Is it just me, or is it disappointing as I go through SOTR that whenever you read a mural of a deity or something, and go into the archives to learn about it, it's just a static image of the exact same small group of murals? (which aren't much different themselves) Lara will be narrating "this depicts so and so a god or scene," and I'm like, no it doesn't. Couldn't the game have included unique art for these entries? See actual depictions of the gods, creatures and other figures? That would've been so much better. I think I had a similar issue in ROTR, but it's been years since I played.

I love the games but one thing that makes it feel off is how far zoomed out the camera goes. I feel like if the games had the same closer camera as the rest it would be near perfection, just me?

And i would like to share my excitement with all of you.

I’m currently playing through tomb raider definitive edition and reached the point where I can use skill points. But for some reason I didn’t get the pop up like everyone else did and now I can no longer invest skill points. What should I do?

Hi I'm currently playing the Survivor Trilogy (finished Rise of the Tomb Raider yesterday, will continue with Shadow next)...but I'm wondering what lays beyond?

The Survivor Triolgy (PS5) is my entry into the franchise and I worry that playing the remasters the OG games will discourage me to play other TR games due to graphics and clunckiness of controls?

Does it makes sense to now play the TR trilogy for the PS3 (legend, anniversary and underworld) or does it give away too much of story/character development and spoil the OGs (which I could only play the remasters of)?

So - TR trilogy on PS3 or Remasters on PS5? What's the best course of action to play these games?
