Transportation workers are contracted by Medicaid, and there is a lack of an efficient system and accountability between Medicaid and these workers. Contractors often face logistical challenges and poor oversight, and are underpaid, overworked, and in some cases, even negligent. Phone calls get nowhere, and patients sit abandoned or miss critical appointments. Meanwhile, Medicaid is doing nothing to address this, acting like saints because of this "free" service that is not actually functional. These patients often lack the time or energy needed to advocate strongly for these issues, and are basically stuck in silence, neglected by Medicaid.
