He was born the day before Charles II was restored to the throne in 1660.

Nobody could have imagined then that George would one day inherit the throne.

That’s crazy considering you had Charles II, James II, William and Mary and Anne and THEN George I. I always get shocked by little things like this lol

Plus anyone between Anne and George who either died (like his mother Sophie) or wasn't deemed suitable by the UK Parliament.

I'm sure they felt justified in their choice, and in the long term it worked out for the British Parliament. Now they've got thousands of people in the Line of Succession so they can still pick and choose if they don't like the next in line!

My closest connection to royalty is him being my 7th great grand uncle. Shame he was such a mediocre king!
