This thread is to be used for general discussion of all USL matches for the current week.
If you would like a dedicated match thread for a match, send a message to u/MatchThreadder using this link. Replace the Home and Away placeholders with the respective teams, or find the ESPN page for the match and replace "Home vs Away" with the game ID at the end of the URL.

It's Monday Morning, put down that copy of WSJ and let's hear your thoughts about all things USL.
What surprises do you think we will see the rest of this USL season, or are things going to finish as they stand?
Favorite and least favorite referee call so far this season?
If you could take one player off of your rival's squad and put them in your own, who would it be?
etc. etc.

Points I found interesting. They're looking for 100 acres for a stadium project because they don't just want a stadium that's going to be near impossible in the city. He also says they will implement division 1 and then 4 years later implement pro/rel with one up one down. I don't know if that's ironed out yet or that's just his opinion p

As a Texoma fan I would consider us to be an extremely small professional sports market. This question is relevant because Tormenta who are another very small market team won League One in 2022.
What would happen in the Pro/Rel contest, if by some miracle we won League One, then went to win the Championship the next year. (a long shot admittedly). Would we be allowed to compete in “USL Premier” given that our market is so small?

Edit: I have moved all Championship expansion teams to the correct league. Thanks for pointing out this error. I wanted to use team popularity for the leagues, so I went with attendance. Club table records, ownership, and finances would also be a good measure.

I feel like we get NOTHING these days. Another redditor suggested that it’s the players union choking off information for the sake of the players. Sounds like BS, but wtfdik?🤷♂️

What if the last place finisher of the lowest league in USL earns an "Anti-trophy." An example being a wooden paddle or cricket bat labled as "USL Paddle '29." It's a mild humiliation that sticks with the club until they're promoted or win a major trophy. At which time they could have a ceremonial fire to burn the trophy and memory of being last place.
Example: A club could theoretically finish last in L1 3 times earning 3 paddles. They could burn their last one as they win USL Premiere. Or get promoted to Championship back and forth 3 times.
