Do city kids not walk to school anymore?

Not everyone lives in the city. Our school is 6 miles away, up and over a mountain. My buddy in Oregon son goes to school 2 miles away. He rides a bike.

Why is there not a bus for trips that far?

Because some smaller rural towns have a cap on how far they’ll go or how far you have to live to be picked up. If you live around 3 miles near the school, Texas doesn’t pick you up.

Money and staffing. Which, staffing just means money.

So, money.

We need to be funding our education better, and that includes transport

There are for my towns school. I couldn't tell you why not for my buddies school. 2 miles isn't far though. Having the kids get a little exercise before and after clas isnt a bad thing IMO.

Thats fine it you have the ability, but there are tons of rural areas with only highway connection to the school. I wouldn't want a kid biking in traffic to make it to school.

My kids can't ride the bus. Drop off time for one kid is 720am, the second kid's drop off time is 835am. One gets out at 215pm the other gets out at 335pm. No business will let you take more than an hour lunch break to get your kids to or from school. There is no shift that runs between 9am and 2pm that doesn't force you into only a part time job, also there is no part time jobs in this area that pay more than $15/hr. Yes, I live the United States.
