Gear Upcoming Kodiak 100, needing shoe suggestions.
I’ve been running all year in Altra Experience Flows, but I’d like to get used to something more trail oriented the remaining few weeks. I have Lone Peaks but not a fan of those.

Are the trails for Kodiak technical? I’d do some recon on the trail then make a decision on shoes.

My Mortons neuromas keep me in Altras. Used to be LP girlie. Hated Olympus for feeling like a giant boat of bricks. Liked the Experience Wild pretty OK. Tried Nike Zegama 2, which were fun and bouncy but hurt my neuromas like a mofo.
Just put like 250 miles on a pair of Altra Mont Blanc Speeds and I kinda really love them. This mileage has been almost exclusively on the Wasatch 100 course, so kinda techy, and they've been fantastic. The rock plate & low stack is great for careening down baby head moto trails when you have to. It's both lighter than the LP, and more protective. The LP feels like I'm slapping the ground with my feet, but the MB's kinda roll off the ground real nice.
Got a pair of MB Carbons for race day and I'm psyched!

I’m still using saucony peregrines, people have been complaining about quality in recent years but mine last two pairs got over 700 miles and I use them on 100k-100 mile races.
This is a personal question though, I’d suggest seeing if you can find deals on a few popular models from prior years and testing them out on long runs
