2018 Vauxhall crossland x 1.6 diesel se nav running really rough

So my crossland has been off the road after stuttering going into limp mode and coming up with an engine light, the whole car also shakes when I turn it off. I got it scanned and it said air flow problem, I’ve changed the MAF sensor but it still has not fixed it. Further on from this, I went and got a DPF filter regen done, to which also has not solved the issue. I don’t suppose anyone knows what it could possibly be or has had the same problem?

Well to be honest just throwing parts at it will eventually get the right bit The car needs looking at/diagnosing correctly from the way it sounds it's an egr issue"but" as stated before it needs proper diagnosis When you replaced the "maf" did you tell the engine ecu you had fitted a new one ???

Yeah, I told the ecu and it didn’t change anything. I’ve had a mechanic come and scan it but I’m thinking maybe a Vauxhall garage will be better off scanning it. I’ve thought of parts like air filter, fuel filter, throttle body, the egr as you say and turbo. It’s all just a luck of the draw!

Is this how you think fixing things is done "luck of the draw"? Just replacing arbitrary parts over and over until it stops being faulty is an expensive way of getting nowhere.

This how I diagnose my issues with my computer, usually quite successful.

Please re read. I said my guesses are luck of the draw- meaning I do not know what is wrong. Hence why I said a Vauxhall garage will be better off.

Yes just a code/scan is not going to fix it cheaper in long run to get it booked in and give them as much info as you can and tell them what has been done Us techs hate it when we get something like this (been played with) and bugger all info other than "diag please" Egr coolers block, egrs are sometimes bad, there is a recall for some of the diesels (cam chain issues) which can cause all sorts of issues

Have you check the MAP sensor? MAF and MAP are different. I just changed mine in my astra 1.6 cdti and its got its power back, feels like its breathing as it should now. It was completely clogged up with soot and carbon, ordered a replacement off ebay for £25. Ive also started putting fuel system cleaner into the tank when i fill up to help clear carbon deposits because i was getting "reduced engine power" when pushing the revs, suspect sticky valves or the MAP sensor, but at 100k miles now, the system cleaner wont hurt

One word: Stellantis. They build engines out of cheese, chocolate and cat poo.

My wife really wants a Grandland X, but I got her a VW Touran instead, as I don't need a money pit in my life.

Check the swirl flaps and the actuator running them they can stick to reduces acceleration forces limp mode

Don't buy the code readers from temu. They absolutely do not work.

Take it to a garage.
