yes, some people are xenophobic. in my experience mostly towards germans and people from the middle east. never heard anyone talking shit about southern europeans, besides the occasional italian tourist, who behaves like a coward, when he´s drunk lol
i would say a general rule is, the browner your skin, the more people will stare. most of the time people don´t even realize they´re staring.
in my experience people tend to speak more "hochdeutsch", if you struggle with the dialect. i guess it will be "just a normal language" for you, after a while.
flats and houses got more and more expensive over the last 10ish years. you should get a "heimatbuch" and keep an eye on platforms like immoscout and willhaben.
i just had to find a new "hausarzt" a month ago and apperantly lots of them are already full. luckily one of them told me a new one opened not too long ago, so there might be a chance :D
i don´t think theres a general rule to make it easier to settle. just don´t be an asshole, don´t be obnoxious in the public (screaming, throwing garbage on the ground, etc.) and greet, when you enter/leave a room.
btw: idk, when exactly you move to villach, but be aware, that there´s the "villacher kirchtag" at the start of august and the city is pretty much closed for cars during this week.
