I'm looking for a western/spaghetti title (seen in color, in a neighborhood theater between 1966 and 1968)

First scenes/opening I remember clearly: the protagonist gets married; after the ceremony, the couple (with guests dressed in rural Mexican style—many in baggy white pants) escorts the bride and groom to their house/hut. On the way/already at the house, a gang ambushes the group: the wife is murdered, the house/hut is damaged, and the groom is left for dead (he later recovers and discovers his wife's body). The rest of the film is the protagonist's search for/revenge.

I don't remember any specific actors or music. Any ideas? Thanks.

The spaghetti western you are likely looking for is Django, Prepare a Coffin (1968), a film starring Terence Hill. While the original 1966 Django is also a revenge story, this sequel specifically features an ambush on a newlywed couple.

My first thought was Comin' At Ya!, but that was like 1980. I think Franco Nero has a a couple that involve revenge for a wedding massacre. I'll think on it. The peasant costumes are a good detail

I’ve found a list by year of release for Spaghetti Westerns on wiki:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_spaghetti_Westerns

I did a quick look through it for the years 66 to 68. And found this. In the brief description it says the protagonist’s wife is killed and he seeks revenge:

This is an Italian/Spanish production: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Dollars_on_the_Red

Plot: The bandit Sancho kills the wife of Johnny Ashley, and because he cannot have a child of his own he abducts Johnny's son Jerry to raise him as his own. Jerry grows up to become an evil man who kills his fiancée Sybil when she threatens to disclose his plans for a robbery. Johnny keeps searching to find his son and avenge his wife. He crosses paths with Jerry and in turn they save the other man's life. Eventually Johnny confronts and kills Sancho. He learns about Jerry from Sancho's wife. When the son comes to avenge his "father," Johnny tries to disarm him, but Jerry is accidentally killed without learning the truth.

If this isn’t the movie, hopefully you can find it in the list of movies. Good luck!

Edit: It mentions about abducting the protagonist’s son - so maybe not the movie you’re looking for. Hopefully you can find it in that list.

No, it's not the movie because the protagonist's wife is killed (and he's presumed dead) and on the wedding day itself (the movie shows the wedding celebration and the party). But I'll look at the list you suggested and see if I can find anything.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Thank you very much for your suggestion, but that's not the movie. The protagonist doesn't have his entire family killed, just his wife, and on their wedding day.
