Gabby Johnson: I wash born here, an I wash raished here, and dad gum it, I am gonna die here, an no sidewindin’ bushwackin’, hornswagglin’ cracker croaker is gonna rouin me bishen cutter.
Olson Johnson: I’m particularly glad that these lovely children were here today to hear that speech. Not only was it authentic frontier gibberish, it expressed a courage little seen in this day and age.

I love the fact when I saw The Big Lebowski when it first came out. And the other Jeffrey Lebowski showed up. I was like Olson Johnson was right.

How did he do such impressive stunts, with such little feet?!?!

I wonder if it would have been better with Richard Pryor. I love Richard but I think he was too animated for this character anyways. The cool cat swagger that Cleavon Little brought to Sheriff Bart was what made so many scenes IMO.

Richard actually suggested Cleavon. After the studio said no to Richard due to his drug use.

I know. It was more than his Drug use though. He was the Andrew Dice Clay of the 70's to a point. No one could fully control what may come out of his mouth. Yes some of that was from the Drugs but it was Pryor's Brash style as well.

Oh I sang along to the theme. Much to my wife's chagrin. She took that moment to go read.

I showed this movie to my 20 something daughters, they still talk about it, maybe not in the ways I’d hoped, but I ADORE this film.

Watched this as a 7 yr old at the drive in with the folks. Still one of the funniest movies ever. Honestly understand it more now than my 7 year old self.

The version I remember as a kid was much longer than the one they play now. There were like 3 different scenes of him defeating Mongo and the German Lady.

That's the TV cut. It also has the Governor showing up before they blow up the town.

When Bart rides up and the “Welcome Sheriff” banner goes up like a window shade… Priceless. And he walks up and pulls it back down 😅

Watching a cut for TV version of Blazing Saddles, is like eating a Swanson's Dinner and expecting real meat.

TCM is Turner Classic Movies. It's not edited. It's in all its R rated glory.

Have to watch unedited.
Rustlers Rhapsody is another irreverent western.

I've only seen the TV cut when it aired on TV when I was like 12. Always unedited.

I am trying to recall , having watched quite a bit of TCM. I will stand corrected. Is this a first run for "Saddles there ?" I will submit that if any movie should never be edited is " Blazing Saddles". Harrumph!

It's been on before. I was scrolling through the app. And was like I know what I'm watching.

I had never seen it before. I remember friends watching it when it was released when I was a kid and saying how funny it was. I loved Young Frankenstein, and always liked Harvey Korman on Carol Burnett, so I figured this was on par. I finally watched it about three weeks ago.
It was not very funny at all, and verged on boring. There were a few moments, but it wasn’t all that. I won’t be watching it again.
