Sounds like a rendition of Saturday in the Park by Chicago.https://youtu.be/HjylD7esXDo?si=_F0vo6qNBdCU8ZWU

Doesn't sound like it, even at 2:40

Think of the melody. You could sing "Saturday in the Park " right over that videogame music. Give it a shot, and it should click. Lmk

To the tone deaf moron that downvoted me - start the video at the 2:40 mark.

It 100% is! Reddit is weird sometimes

OP said this was driving him nuts for 9 years! I may have quickly solved the puzzle, and I didn't even receive a comment. OP is a liar and a fraud - or possibly a bot. It obviously DID NOT drive him nuts. He just wanted clicks. Fuck OP.

Ya know, i dont check my reddit every 6 hours so has op had activity in that time?

I'm just butthurt because I didn't receive my accolades, red carpet award ceremony, and parade - for swiftly swooping in like a superhero - to try to restore OP's sanity. I can relate to the title of the post

Doesn't sound like the same song at all to me, and getting angry over a downvote might indicate Reddit is not a great place for you until you achieve a higher level of emotional maturity.

Agreed. Also considering the extremely angry replies this dude has, very much agreed. I deleted reddit for a little bit off my phone so i got no notifications.

What are you looking for exactly? That YouTube video credits this guy as the composer - seems like he was more of a hobbyist than professional musician. If you want the song just rip it from the video? Or contact him, he might send you the files.

u/Mixels 23d ago

This was a semi-professional job, though a hobbyist could easily have done this. This is entirely PC-synth. As indicated by that YouTube video, this song is the main theme of a solid 3.5 star game called Ball Coaster 3D.

1

u/stopitout 23d ago

Yes I’m aware? I have musician friends who do music for shitty games/similar projects sometimes. They are bartenders and servers and office workers who do these projects on the side. They’d consider themselves hobbyists.

OP made it sound like they were just looking for the literal track from the game. Which…is on YouTube already. Looking at these comments, everyone had a different understanding of this dumb post anyway.

1

u/Mixels 23d ago

That wasn't for you. It was for anyone else looking at this. :)

1

u/cubehead-exists 14d ago

I emailed the guy a couple times before to unfortunately no avail.

1

u/stopitout 14d ago

Are you wanting to use the song for something? Like do you need permission?

If you just want the song for personal use/to listen to…I’m confused about what the question is really. The song is available and it’s not difficult to just download a song off of YouTube.

1

u/cubehead-exists 13d ago

Well i do want to use it in my own projects actually, its a great song. I also just want an HD version for myself

1

u/Spiritual-Macaron-13 24d ago

What I read was that the game didn’t specify the name of the song but it is composed by Maciej Barwiński and everyone is just calling it “main theme” they were also talking in the comments about they were trying to get in touch with the author to use the track.

u/cubehead-exists 14d ago

One of which was actually me lul

Trust me bro when I dive in fully when looked it up, I went down a hole trying to find it. I see why you have so much trouble

1

u/cubehead-exists 13d ago

This might be the next ulterior motives 😭

1

u/Mundane-Operation510 24d ago

No, cause what was the old computer game that started all those rolling ball clones?? Played it in school n only the original wasnt total bullshit

That is an instrumental version of Donovan's "Atlantis".

Skip the first 1:50 of talking.

u/Prestigious_Ant_703 24d ago

Nice song. Horrible lyrics.

1

u/cubehead-exists 14d ago

Hmm, i'm at 1:50 and i do hear the chords are exactly the same, but i dont see any other resemblance to the song other than that

1

u/Fearless-List-7482 24d ago

Is this not the theme song for Hot Shot Golf on like Play Station 1…

1

u/Elderchicken948 24d ago

Sounds like music from Sims 4

1

u/BjanLadders 23d ago

Reminds me of the Mario Kart main theme

1

u/BlizzardStorm8 23d ago

Wow is that marble blast? I remember playing that in elementary school on the school computers

Ok I'm still rifling through my brain for this one, but I've narrowed it down enough (I think) that I'll leave you with my thoughts, and see if you can figure it out, while I continue to try as well:
I think it's a late 80's-early 90's British band, like a Stone Roses or Kula Shaker type. I believe it's the back half of the song, think of "Hey Jude" or whatever, where it changes up half way through, but I could be wrong about that.

I don't know why some of the commenters are getting mad for you asking this, like 90% of these shitty video game music composers don't blatantly lift the melodies of popular tunes. See: Nintendo ripping off "Sir Duke" in Super Mario 64. "Composer" - Koji Kondo... give me a break. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBsAqXna0QI&ab_channel=SiIvaGunner )

u/MedusaCowBeast 24d ago

Is the second half of your comment a joke that went over my head or do you actually think that your example is the actual song in game? Or that it doesnt really even sync with sir duke after 30 seconds let alone sound anything like that song at all?

1

u/Ok_Contribution9672 23d ago

It is an actual song in game, and the whole song is a direct copy of "Sir Duke". What on earth are you on about?

1

u/MedusaCowBeast 23d ago

That is a remix of the actual in game song with sir Duke playing over it buddy

1

u/Ok_Contribution9672 23d ago

Nope. It's on the internet, it's real.

1

u/MedusaCowBeast 23d ago

Ok so its a joke my bad
