Discussion Ride Circuit
Curious how everyone’s rides have been going with the electric shuttles. Yesterday we took one to Rodeo 72, but when we tried to leave, we kept getting bumped back in the queue. At one point, we had been waiting 20 minutes, the ride was showing just 2 minutes away, and then it suddenly jumped back to over 20 minutes.

It took too long for me. If im not saving time, I'd rather just drive and look for parking and get to whatever im doing.

I’ve taken it quite a few times. They only have like 2 or 3 going at a time and I think the drivers have discretion if they want to accept more people if they are on the way. This might add extra stops before they get to you.
I’m not sure exactly how their app works on their end but I think they are trying to pick up as many people as possible.
My driver yesterday was saying Fridays and Saturdays are always the busiest for them.

No luck getting a driver so far, but I’ve only tried on the weekend evenings

Pretty nice around uptown. Used it 5 times with quick arrivals every time.

I think theyre trying to bump it up to 6 cars.
I think its a commendable project, one of the few good things Whittier’s government has done recently. Its tempting to make it like a cheaper on-demand rideshare, but I think itd be better off in a kind of loop shuttle type system. To augment the bus lines that barely run around here. Uptown Parking lots to the hiking trails to the Groves, Kaiser, maybe the Quad and back.
