Bad luck? Did you see how much strain he put on the glass by leaning the desk on the corner legs?

But if you were moving to a new location, even if you boxed it, and stamped it fragile & this way up only, it's not certain it would arrive in one piece..

I’m starting to think that it’s not a good idea to make the central load bearing structure of a large piece of furniture out of a sheet of glass.

Lol. You think? I see glass table tops for sale all the time.. they must be selling ... to who I can't say

I think they’re fine as long as they’re just sitting on a base. The problems start when you put holes in them and then stick what are essentially giant levers through the holes.

You can always just glue it back together tho

Lol. I think they might have had a better chance with old Humpty Dumpty.

If you were moving to a new location you should take it apart

That would make sense.... if its that sort of design that comes in boxes and you have to assemble it manually. I have seen wooden desks like that its true.

"You think this is bad design and not bad luck? Well what about a totally different situation where the bad design would also cause it to break?"

What point are you even trying to make?

Oh sorry, I wasn't at that point responding to the quote you pasted though, but rather the one above mine.... it can get confusing.

Responding to your quote: I would say it's a bad choice of material for a desk on the whole .... and a bad decision to invest in it. Lol If tje design was implemented with different materials, it would be ok..

This happened to me. Ordered a one piece fully glass coffee table. It arrived as a giant pile of tiny crushed glass shards.

Crap... what happened afterwards? How did you get reimbursed?

Haha I complained to the seller and sent them photos and they gave me a refund. But then I just bought a wooden table after that. Don’t wanna make that mistake again 😂

Wow, agreed with you there. Glass is for things that NEED to made of it! Glad it worked out ok in the end.
