Would be worth getting a parcel box or an appropriate safe place so delivery drivers don’t needlessly be trying to deliver to your property then when you know you won’t be in

Tbh, if DPD had a "not in" option that would be great. Then the postie can skip your house, you don't have to stress about a package you can't be in for (especially when they often don't let you know until 10am, after you leave the house if you're busy all day/working). They've set up this whole site to track your parcel stop by stop, but there's no option to delay postage until you're actually in

I do get where you're coming from, but at the same time, imagine 75% of people reschedule their deliveries for an evening or Saturday or Sunday; how does that pan out.
All their drivers leave the depot with 20 deliveries for a days shift as everyone else wants them when they're home to receive them.
The app allows you to set preferred neighbours or preferred pickup point, but allowing someone to select a timeslot if it hasn't been an option at the point of order would put every delivery company on its knees.

It doesn't for my orders. I have to be there to give a code, + it's just wasting their time when I'm not in to pick it up
Not picking a timeslot, just saying "not in". They have to redeliver it the next day anyway, just means they're not doing a pointless stop at my house to wait for me not to reply

If I'm not going to be in I reschedule it for a different date or collection point ...and more often than not still come back to a parcel soaking wet or missing.

Nope if drivers leave it in an unsafe place unsigned and it gets robbed the delivery place or the retail place has to replace it

Yeah, gets repaired and rebroken every couple of months. Usually a couple of smackheads loitering round there. Lots of shouting and screaming every other weekend. Everyone in Swinley knows which one I'm talking about.

81% of the population is white. So that should be higher. On nobody's side here but your stats aren't helping you. Putting your stats next to this makes it look like there is an outsized dependency on benefits in non white communities.

No it doesn’t, it presents the statistics in a balanced way instead of the poster above trying to make it seem as though the majority of benefit claimants are Pakistani Muslims. I mean for gods sake what data even demonstrates what religion someone is just because of their ethnicity?
It also completely ignores how systemic racism impacts on employment and education opportunities. Benefits also have nothing to do with being lazy. People can be on benefits because they are disabled, this doesn’t mean they’re lazy and trying to rob the system. I’m a white person on benefits. I work a full time job, have a masters degree and I’m not on minimum wage, but I’m still on benefits. If I’m educated, employed and in a long term career and still deemed to not have enough money to live on then something is very wrong with this country. People need to stop blaming ethnic minorities for everything and look at why people are on benefits in the first place.

Tbf there are a lot of other benefits other than universal credit. I don't believe any illegal can claim universal credit, but they get housing completely paid for and straight cash every week

you should just be able to recover money paid for the item from the seller anyway as its not delivered if its left on the door step. happens to me all the time in the area i live, amazon drivers do it the most and just leave the parcel on the doorstep, so far amazon have always refunded me for the issue. but i guess this is what happens when the drivers are told to deliver a stupid amount in a day and need to be quick so they just drop the parcel, knock the door and leave.

sorry this happened to you, i’m always scared of this when drivers leave my things outside
I made a post last week in another sub about an amazon delivery that was left by my door, literally in the street (terrace with no garden)
my ‘safe space’ lists several neighbours that i’m on good terms with and have no issue taking in my parcels if i’m not in
literally every comment told me it was my fault for where i live, or for not choosing a delivery locker, and that i’m basically incompetent and shouldn’t order things to arrive when i’m not gonna be in (as if the delivery days and times are always set in stone and never change last minute)
i think i got unlucky and had an audience of entirely delivery drivers that took it personally
