I guess that is one way to light government money on fire.

Didn’t this guy smoke weed on rogans podcast?

29

u/Simple_Panda6232 Feb 04 '25

probably the most tame of them all

12

u/trnpkrt Feb 05 '25

He's also a ketamine addict.

5

u/Otterpopz21 Feb 04 '25

Smoking weed should get someone fired…? lol

42

u/keltron Feb 04 '25

No but Elon is a huge pothead and constant ketamine abuser and is now trying to use drug tests to fire people. Hypocrisy thy name is Elon.

Asking for advice on a subreddit, and actually passing are two completely different things.

55

u/Prehistory_Buff Feb 04 '25

To do this, they'll probably have to set up a department staffed with doctors, accountants, lawyers and nurses, acquire or construct building space, establish a testing lab, purchase the necessary equipment and supplies, place appointments during the work day....

32

u/ajlark25 Feb 04 '25

Yeah I thought drug testing has repeatedly been found a wildly inefficient use of money. It always costs way more to do all the tests then whatever they lose by having someone who’s using work for them. Double stupid since most people are gonna just get busted for weed cuz that’s basically what the test is for

16

u/BigWhiteDog Feb 04 '25

Yep. They did this in some states for welfare recipients if I remember right and found a lower incident then in the general public and it cost way more than it saved!

2

u/Cverellen Feb 07 '25

The thing that seemed obvious to me is: If you are on welfare you don’t have “a lot of money”, drugs that you get tested for take “a lot of money”. You want to root out drug problem go after rich people. They have the means.

60

u/Simple_Panda6232 Feb 04 '25

I think efficiency is the least of their concerns

24

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '25

Hilarious coming from the department of government efficiency.....

9

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '25

They rely on contractors to do this work and have been for years. It's nothing new to the federal service.

1

u/Idaho_Firefighter Feb 10 '25

For a very small number of employees, 10% of which get tested per year. FS recently started new physical program, and contractors can't handle the workload. So there is actual merit to this sarcastic comment...

4

u/neatureguy420 Feb 04 '25

They’ll probably contract it out to private clinics

2

u/Heavy-Rise-1509 Feb 05 '25

Rick scotts’ wife made a fortune with this same scam in Florida.

1

u/Tallguy990 Feb 06 '25

Ummm no - it’s as simple as go to X place and get a drug test and have them send the bill and results to Y. Plenty of employers drug test people all the time.

1

u/Idaho_Firefighter Feb 10 '25

Name one with 2 million employees. go

1

u/Tallguy990 Feb 10 '25

Walmart 2.1 million - that was easy.

As for industry - something like 6.5 million people work in the oil field a highly drug tested industry. Random drug tests, routine drug tests, etc. it’s not a hard process…

123

u/shinsain Feb 04 '25

Musk should start with him.

Then he can fire himself.

18

u/PatienceCurrent8479 Feb 04 '25

Ketamine and Cola and keep’em coming

-30

u/Bubbly_Jellyfish_615 Feb 04 '25

He didn't sign a job application saying he wouldn't do drugs.

22

u/shinsain Feb 04 '25

Found the collaborator.

16

u/GrouchyAssignment696 Feb 04 '25

Start with himself and his teenage DOGE staffers. Leadership starts at the top.

12

u/sumdude155 Feb 04 '25

Sweet what drugs will we be testing?

22

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '25

Already in effect. TDP positions have been administered random starting last week.

1

u/Idaho_Firefighter Feb 10 '25

Share details. There are rules here. This isn't Nam.

10

u/BigWhiteDog Feb 04 '25

Need to find this choad and drug test him

24

u/Particular_Stop6422 Feb 04 '25

Obviously feds shouldn't do drugs, but how does this work now that the farm bill legalized hemp derived thc products? If you consumed a perfectly federally and state legal delta 8 gummy purchased from your local gas station what law or rule was broken to cause any disciplinary action?

15

u/Gold-Tone6290 Feb 04 '25

Musk it the epitome of Dunning Kruger effect. Everything seems easy until you get into the actual details of what your are doing. Not to mention the consequences.

14

u/DefinitelyADumbass23 🚁 Feb 04 '25

The dude is literally on ketamine. You're assuming he's doing shit that makes sense or cares about legality

2

u/IAmTheHell Feb 05 '25

Just because a product is legal doesn't mean there can't be administrative rules barring it's use. Especially if there are security clearances involved. Criminal laws and internal policies are two different things. And as an employee, you likely signed agreements/acknowledged policies that state you can be terminated for violating those policies. It's like deciding to no call/no show to work. Is it illegal? No. Can that be cause to fire you? Yes.

1

u/Particular_Stop6422 Feb 05 '25

What policy is violated though? My job absolutely has written policy on attendance, which no call no showing would violate. I know my employee handbook says no use of controlled substances, but the farm bill specifically states those are not controlled substances.

2

u/IAmTheHell Feb 08 '25

Are you asking me to quote a specific line in a specific policy manual? I don't know how i would be able to do that. Whether it is considered a controlled substance or not, it's use would trigger a failed drug test for THC, which would mean you're fired as by a preponderence of evidence, you ingested a drug which was not prescribed/pre authorized by your employer. Controlled substance or not, using Delta 8 results in a failed drug test, ie you're violating drug policy in the eyes of the government. You may not get arrested for it, you still can get fired for it.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '25

Start with the CIA,

5

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '25

If this includes Adderall, there goes the whole exec branch and half of Congress. Not to mention all the aides.

6

u/Difficult-Brain2564 Feb 04 '25

I believe if you are not in a drug test PD they have to give a 30 day notice, or have “reasonable “ suspicion.

2

u/WareTheBuffaloRome Feb 05 '25

That’s assuming these fucks follow the rules, which they are not.

1

u/Idaho_Firefighter Feb 10 '25

This is correct. Proper term is Testing Designated Position (TDP). USDA has list for FS. Caveat, your job announcement can suffice as notice, so better double check that.

9

u/ArmyDudeDave Feb 04 '25

Says the guy who wouldn’t pass…..

4

u/Soggy_Zucchini1349 Feb 05 '25

Where can I report these things? I know this new employee, who is on some sort of short term “special employee” type thing. I know for a fact he uses marijuana, but due to his position I believe he’s just getting away with it. Also he has some large conflicts of interest, such as firing someone investigating his own company. I don’t want to name names, but if you know him, you know how bad he is

3

u/40FordCoupe Feb 05 '25

Test Musk first.

3

u/Heavy-Rise-1509 Feb 04 '25

Dopes testing dopes?

3

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '25

This foreskin sniffer sits hard on K, coke and E… shut the fuck up if they say dig this indirect fire for the next 10km, and you can’t smoke a j while doing so - I'm demobilizing myself and requesting accommodation out of the camp.

3

u/megatheriumburger Feb 04 '25

4th Amendment. Good try.

4

u/Burnt_diary Feb 04 '25

I just got hit with the email for a random test

2

u/atom-wan Feb 04 '25

As soon as elon takes one

2

u/Pale_Ad1658 Feb 04 '25

Tren don't show up, right?... Right???

2

u/bob_lafollette Feb 04 '25

Didn’t Elon smoke a joint while doing a Joe Rogan podcast? Yeah, he did…

2

u/YodaPaw Feb 05 '25

soo ketamine is fine, but weed? those 21% of adults in the united states that use marijuana might as well be fentanyl addicts. surely they are much less fit to work than ketamine addicts, right?

2

u/smokejumperbro USFS Feb 05 '25

Funny people think this is anything besides Elon tweeting to himself. Twitter/X is just a psy-op at this point.

2

u/sloaneysbaloneys Feb 05 '25

That's one way to backlog the testing centers.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '25

Anyone have experience with failing a test?

1

u/GonnaTry2BeNice Feb 04 '25

Reminds me of Kingsman Golden Circle.

1

u/oospsybear napping is 'unPrOFesSIoNal' Feb 05 '25

New Calfire pitch just dropped

1

u/gianni1980 Feb 05 '25

Musk couldn’t pass.

1

u/boracha Feb 05 '25

Mmm hey so wtf josh??

1

u/TownshipRangeSection IED Hire Feb 05 '25

Elon does so many drugs anyway. Start with him

1

u/macetrek Feb 07 '25

Oooh! Start with him! If he fails, we fire him.

-40

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '25

Simple, don’t do drugs.

27

u/backlikeclap Feb 04 '25

Idk man I think it's pretty insulting and invasive to force random drug testing on employees who are already doing their jobs fine. It's also a HUGE waste of money. And on a practical level pretty ineffective since the least dangerous drugs like weed stay in your system for weeks, meanwhile drugs like fentanyl/Oxy and cocaine can be out of your system in 1-3 days.

Maybe you're happy giving the fed more money and more power to monitor what you do while you're off the clock. I hear China is always hiring if that's the sort of government you want.

-32

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '25

When you accept a federal appointment, you agree to be in the random pool. I dunno maybe follow what you agree too 🤷‍♂️. But hey r/wildfire will just complain wildly about everything for the next 3.9 years and let the TDS consume it

15

u/OttoOtter Feb 04 '25

"All these stupid pointless things that are happening are actually really great and are making everything cheaper and everyone else has TDS but me. I only own 4 Trump flags and a red MAGA hat on my head at all times!"

6

u/neatureguy420 Feb 04 '25

What about people who use federally legal hemp products that contain THC? It’s legal so why is that an issue?

8

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '25

Must be new here

4

u/tricolorhound Feb 05 '25

It's even simpler to mind your own business.
