Because life isn't a movie? Who would back them up? No one.

In order for this to work, you need massive, sustained protests, strikes and demonstrations showing the general public is on your side. In addition to a general rolling strike with protections and financial aid for striking workers.

Anything less just involves these people getting targeted by a government agency with a larger budget than the US Marines.
