They're already on the sidebar, but thought I'd post them here because why not
1. Post original work.
Reposts with credit are acceptable.
2. Don't abuse the creator.
Provide tips for designs to improve. Do not merely comment that a design is of poor quality or that you don't like it.
3. Linked content (media) must be visible on Reddit. (Excludes long text posts)
If you upload your design and it isn't visible, it's very likely that members won't see your work or interact with your post. For that reason, if you post a link to a video or image, it must be visible. This excludes text posts with supplemental media (ex. a post discussing a relevant topic that includes various linked images on Imgur or the web).
(if there’s no added or linked media whatsoever, no text posts.)
4. Videos must be relevant and visible.
This is not a place to post a video in hopes of collecting views. Your video MUST be relevant to the subreddit topic AND be playable inside Reddit.
5. No Affiliate Links
All links to resources, tools, etc. must be DIRECT LINKS. Posts and comments containing affiliate links, or redirect-ad website links will be removed.
Also a general reminder, this subreddit is for posting designs/concepts or applications related to Windows - not a windows modding subreddit. Please don't post questions on how to change a specific thing in windows, there's better subreddits for that.

Hi :) so, this is a mod I’ve been working on for so long now. It’s a nice blend between XP and Vista, with all the design elements of vista but the UI format of Longhorn/XP. I decided on this because I really do prefer the logo used on Windows XP and somehow, it translates really well to this lil mod I am working on.
I modified the theme files, made my own open shell skin, changed the logon image and I even made a custom background that you can use for now, as it’s not ready yet.
I plan on having different colours for different SKUs of this version of Windows, and I want to one day compile it into an ISO format but I don’t know how I’d do that.

Hi everyone!
I recreated the look and feel of Ubuntu's desktop interface using Seelen UI on Windows.
I'm not an expert, but I really wanted to share this because I love how it turned out!
I made a pack with this themes, icons (somehow...), wallpapers, and settings so that anyone can try it.
What do you think about it? :3

I said this to my sister yesterday and now I'm thinking... they actually should do this. Microsoft should bring back "Classic" mode for the desktop interface except give you a few options like XP or Vista but it shouldn't just be a superficial skin it should feel like 2k, XP , or Vista / 7. Aka the control panel options in the right place, task bar, window boxes and Start menu functioning as it would have in those respective OSes. Seems like such a simple thing to do that would pretty much immediately make everyone who used any of those classic OSes but left (like myself) because it got way too bloated and confusing want to come back. Sure it's a bit extra work but it would mean that businesses and older users could have up to date Windows without almost ever having to change workflow, suddenly you'd know where to look for options and things again rather than having to search for it because it's basically impossible to find anything anymore in the nested options menu purgatory they call control panel these days.
Seems like an obvious thing to do to cater to all this nostalgia flying around also.
Also not sure if this is the right sub to say this in. lol

My take on if Windows 95 was made in the modern day, blending its 3D object heavy UI with Microsoft's newer Windows 11-era interface style. This was my first time using Figma for this kind of concept art, so hopefully it's not too rough around the edges.

Forgive me Microsoft, for I have sinned, and visited r/unixporn, and now I want to "rice" my windows.
Does anyone know, if there is software that acts like wallpaper engine, but instead of setting my wallpaper to an image or a video, it embeds cmd into my wallpaper.
If I am desperate enough I might try to write this myself, but that is long and scary so...

I made Splitz Super Splitter, a batch PDF splitter with a Fluent UI inspired look. It’s just a personal project to help me split my thesis PDFs.

Shown here is the booting process and two different variants of the Blue Screen of Death (KeBugCheck and NtRaiseHardError respectively) of Windows 1.0, from 1980. In this timeline, PCs are super-advanced, and Microsoft have created their own proprietary 32-bit instruction set and computer system. The 32-bit NT kernel is the first to be released, and only runs on devices equipped with Microsoft's proprietary 32-bit processor, with a lightweight 16-bit version containing the same features also released to run on traditional 16-bit Intel-based devices of the era, either on top of MS-DOS or by itself as a standalone operating system. Feel free to share your thoughts, suggestions and any criticism constructive or otherwise, as I'm a semi-novice graphic designer using only free software as I'm too poor for paid software.
