Question How do i know which wing i’m gonna get??
i ordered regular wings at one restaurant and they looked like this, and then i ordered regular wings at a different place and they looked like this. How do i know if they’re gonna be flavorless and smooth vs. crunchy and seasoned??? Is there any indicator?? what do i ask?

Most restaurants will say they are breaded if they are breaded. The other ones look like were ordered without sauce but definitely right level of crispy.

The breaded ones have spices, mostly salt garlic and onion powder, in the breading. The bare wings haven't been sauced, that's why they are bland. You want a basic 1/3 butter to 2/3 Frank's sauce and plenty of sauce on the plate. If you get sauce on the side dip one side in sauce and the other side pick up some Bleu cheese for the perfect wing.

Some places do both. Flavour wise, traditional buffalo style or hot wings won’t be breaded. If you get bbq or some other thick sauced flavour I find they are often breaded.
You can also asked for them well done or fried hard. Fried hard is a little too well done for me. You can also asked for extra wet meaning a bunch of sauce on them.
Personally, I like to ask for wings dry with sauce on the side. It keeps the wings crisp until you eat them, and if you take them home for leftovers they won’t get soggy. Especially if they are breaded.

Just ask if they’re breaded before you order. The word you’re looking for is breaded.
